Having a random conversation with some friends in Discord and this topic came up. I personally have only ever raided on this Shadow Priest and very small handful of other specs. Was just curious what everyone’s experiences are in raiding with different specs.
Let’s add it’s just a single target fight with little to no movement as the encounter. So maybe I am asking about rotation? Idk.

You know Feral Druid did come up as one of them but I haven’t personally played one in years.

Feral druid when done well is tops, but otherwise it’s trash. Pretty brutal.
I’ll throw my vote to feral as well. If you mess up any at all your dps tanks.
Seems to be the consensus between my friends and I also. Always seemed to be a high risk high reward spec to play.

Feral has always been the hardest. WW monk is up there too.

I played feral. Although you feel like you’re doing dps, you look on recount and you’re whack lol. Started doing balance right after and did a little better instead of being in 16th you’re in the top 10 but now I main healer on my Druid.
Basically, applying dots at your maximum damage output(like trinket procs, weapon procs, etc) and it applying that same peak damage even when your buffs drop off because it doesn’t lose its buffs until it drops off the target. DoT specs used to all work this way, iirc. But I heard Feral was the only one still able to do this. But that’s the difficulty, timing it properly so you get maximum output from the DoTs. Otherwise you lose a lot of DPS.

Def feral. Renamed my toon because its fun to see an “unviable” spec at the top of the charts.
Balance always seemed to be the easiest of the two dps specs. Maybe because I only play casters and I am a mediocre melee player. A lot less risk when messing up your rotation as Boomy.
Also Resto is probably my favorite healing spec in the game next to Disc. Super fun.

Essentially. The idea was that if you kept the DoT refreshed and didn’t let it fall off, it maintained that maximum strength.
Yeah balance is easy. I always tend to level through the zones with balance and do dungs and raids under as restro. Balance deals way more damage than feral.
