What do you do with profession specialization points after you have maxed every specialization?

I have maxed every specialization tree in both tailoring and enchanting but can still earn points that I can’t spend. Is that just a game bug? Do you store them for future upgrades or am I missing something?

Why are you still doing weeklies for KP if everything is maxed? Just don’t do them anymore.

The system wasn’t built to stop giving you quests once you max it. Probably a holdover from DF since you could turn KP into mettle, but acuity works different so there’s no need to stockpile KP anymore.

He could be getting skill points from disenchanting without intending to.

Maybe they’ll put in something later, idk. Could have a vendor and use skill points as currency to buy acuity/engy scrap/raw mats/recipes or perhaps use them as an optional ingredient for treatises/create a new type of treatise.

I dunno if that could cause issues or not.
Might have to restrict the kp as currency to only work if you’ve maxed the profession to stop people bricking themselves.

Edit: lazy way might be like the time in Legion where the final weapon trait just had infinite ranks.

Just slap on a new node that appears after maxing a profession that gives +1 crafting speed or +1 gathering speed.

Once you’re maxed, you continue getting Crafting Orders that either provide all mats, or provide the expensive mats, so you can just get free crafting mats through resourceful procs and coincidentally end up with both more Acuity and KP.

True, I made the assumption the OP was looking for ways to earn KP after they’re maxed.

Sorry, forgot to answer the question.

Not a bug, they just didn’t put a cap on earning knowledge points. There’s currently nothing to do with spares and no reason for you to stockpile them at this point.

They just sit - you get AA from each point which you can use at the vendor if you don’t need it for anything else. We have all kinds of currency that isn’t of much use after you have finished with the content, I don’t know why having this bothers people.

If Blizz plans to do what they did towards the end of DF, they’ll allow us to convert overflow KP into acuity, which you can then purchase the mat grab bags with or whatever they might introduce thereafter.

But KP already gave us acuity when we earned it. That was the change made to alleviate the artisan’s mettle issue in DF.

Okay? So if they do that again in TWW, you would turn excess KP into more acuity and have more goodie bags you can buy. It’s not the most creative solution but it’s still a way to turn the KP into gold.

Fairly sure gaining KP functionally also gave mettle in Dragonflight, at least in the sense that most sources gave both tied in a 1KP:5Mettle ratio. It might even have been the same; I’m pretty sure the 10KP rep items or 5KP masters also had Mettle when you learned the KP, but maybe my memory’s just off. The relationshp and ratio definitely predates War Within tho.

The KP explicitly giving Acuity is just repeating/simplifying that process, but doesn’t change the dynamic for what could be done with excess KP.

I stopped doing things that earn more points. I have no reason to do my profession weeklies unless I need more acuity, which I don’t.
