Like I consider myself a filthy casual. We only raid 2 nights a week for 2 hours MAX. First normal, then once most norm gear is passed on we do heroic. From there we only go to about midway through the season before we call it, once everyone has their AOTC.
I rarely touch M+ mostly sticking to low keys, just for giggles and when there’s a heroic item available for doing 4 of em.
I consider that pretty casual. What do do you consider a casual player
Casual is a subjective idea. While “casual gamer” has a distinct definition, the individual definition can vary. I play about 8-10 hours per week, I do not do raiding or M+, love WQs, anjoy the story, and spend 4 of my 10 hours roleplaying on Moonguard with my guild. I have not had AotC since Legion, or KSM since SL.
I am a very clean casual—nothing filthy or dirty about me.
Delves, Low Keys, nothing above Heroic raids 2 x a week, one alt I keep barely current (time walking, LFR, etc), and one alt on MoP Classic that just made it out of 85 to 86 who will never see the inside of a raid this round of MoP.
I wouldn’t even consider you much of a casual.
Playing a game on a schedule (2 nights a week) and in a group isn’t casual to me. That is organized. It’s with purpose.
But maybe I am just even more casual than that. I play whenever I can find the time and when I do play it’s 50/50 between Delves and BGs across a couple alts. I haven’t done a normal raid since Legion.
Years of hardcore players complaining about blizz catering to “casuals” It’s a defense mechanism, you insult yourself first before someone else can. Spend years in high school getting bullied and you learn how to deflate someone doing everything they can to put you down.
I would personally not consider organized raiding casual, but I admit that mindset might be a carryover from the days of raiding being herding 39 cats.
When I think casual, I think of someone that does very little group content, much less organized group content.
I am slightly less casual than the op. The same on raiding but will get to 3k m+ on a couple toons. But I would still call us casual we just have a good time and don’t stress about it
I base casual vs hardcore off time played per week, regardless of activity. If someone is mythic raiding, but is raid logging (aka just raids and logs off) and only plays 6 hours per week, they are a casual. If someone is spending 40 hours per week pet battling and leveling alts, they’re hardcore.
“Casual” is a mindset. You could definitely push to 3k casually. You probably can’t do mythic prog very casually just because it requires a fixed roster and schedule.
playing story, transmog farming , random and casual bgs , timewalking dungeons when they are up , traders post quests , going to darkmoon faire or playing trial of style , and pretty soon itll be decorating my house in midnight .
