Is there anything you find to do on WoW when you’re feeling down that always seem sto cheer you up?
You know what I do? I turn WoW off and watch the office…
I like the mindless killing spree in island expeditions. It’s easy, takes no thought, I can put on a movie while doing it, and the chance at some loot at the end is nice.
Pet collecting/Roleplaying
Roleplaying is actually a big one. Immerse myself in a good vibe area in the city and watch people in their roleplays. It’s quite amusing some of the stories I’ve seen.
Sometimes I’ll go on a bit of a joyride to random places, like through Northrend or whatever, usually listening to whatever music suits my current mood. Nostalgia can be soothing from time to time.
I used too… But this game just makes me sad now playing it. : / I some times get little Joy when i get something that i’ve been wanting. Like tonight i got the Warwhelp and it made me happy, but that’s the first in a while considering everything i do in this game now is just an annoyance.
Right now I’m playing Classic Era as a Warrior - never done the leveling as a Warrior before; never really played Warrior at all, even in Retail.
Going back to Classic and starting fresh in a big, dangerous world as a class I’ve had nearly zero exposure to has been my escape as of late. I think about it all day and night, planning what I’ll do next.
I’m not planning anything at cap level, just here for the leveling experience.
I’m still PvPing in Retail, but things IRL are a bit hectic where, at the end of the day, what I really want is to escape into a classic RPG, and Classic Era is scratching that itch for me.
I turn on Ted Lasso on my iPad next to my monitor and proceed to play whatever I feel like doing in WoW. Always cheers me right up.
Well what I was just doing in wow made me “big mad” not even kidding, I was cussing out Nax in general chat so I might get silenced. But you and your friends could troll in a raid, last night my friend and I had this toy fish the one where you kick it and when it got to the boss we dared each other to walk up there and kick it. It’s funny if you understand the seriousness of raiding and the people.
Play through TBC and WOTLK again. Always manages to engross me despite missing quests and the like. Playing while listening to Dio Albums really helps!
I find a nice relaxing spot in Pandaria, usually in the Jade Forest, then just sit and fish.
But what I do outside of the game when the big sad hits and the black dogs are howling at my door is I toss some supplies in my backpack and disappear into the woods for a few hours, sometimes even a day or two, with my dogs and just enjoy the company, the outdoors, the peace and quiet and just ground myself for a bit.
I play my Fury Warrior and smash buttons.
Or I play my Fire Mage and pretend I’m setting the reason for my sadness on fire.
well i used to play with my sunflower but now it’s been muted. so nothing.
wait what???
yea it just plays the once and then stops now.
Doing keys or content I find difficult helps me to use certain coping skills easier, mainly one-mindfully and mindful distraction.
Getting something to watch / listen to on youtube. Then just fish in WoW.
Helps when I just need to zone out. Since my brains mostly just “watch fishing bobber. click fishing bobber” and whatever I’m listening to is keeping me somewhat busy. It’s a nice balance for me.
Not too much in Wow except maybe chat/play with friends.
WoW is moreso my ‘chill out’ game.
I’d recommend Deep Rock Galactic, I was in a bit of a funk when I started playing it a few years ago, and the community there always made me smile.
That game basically blasts serotonin out of the monitor, unlike WoW which only drip-feeds you if you get lucky.
