to be fair though, nobody has been perfect at defending their homeland. Orcs and Draenei lost their planets, let alone a capital city.

Aside from ears and eyebrows not much.
Actually, Nightborne and Blood Elves have a lot of overlap. But the traitorous High Elves and Void Elves and their wretched Night Elf cohorts are all their own thing at this point and have more that divides them than unites them.
So the whole “reuniting the elves” concept needs to be thrown in the garbage.
