yeah it sounds weird but we’ve all collected enough tarantula legs to make kaldorei kabobs or whatever they’re calling it nowadays. i bet they taste like chicken.
I bet they taste like spider.
They are essentially just big harry land crabs
I think bugs are like tofu where they just pick up whatever they were cooked in/with and don’t have their own flavour…
But I’ve never ate a bug myself so who knows!
I dunno what your endgame is, but I want them more now, so i wouldn’t be surprise if you worked for the tarantula industry.
I ate a junebug on a dare and $20 back in 2016. It didn’t have much of a taste, but my tastebuds were so heavily drowned in whiskey by that point I wouldn’t have tasted it anyway,
The mystery remains then!
Everything taste like chicken I have been told
But if I was going to guess more like cricket’s
In my experiences this is true
They been describe a mixture between Chicken and Crod, but mostly bland if not cooked right.
tho there are some places that sell em in 8 per bag and they are deepfried.
Tarantulas are, in fact, eaten in some places on the Real Earth.
Notably, Cambodia, where
After the spiders are deep fried with a little salt and garlic, the locals eat them a bit like eating a crab. They pull off the legs and then suck the meat, or spider flesh, that comes with them, which is very little, and then tackle the head and body. The abdomen, the big fat portion at the back of the spider, is not desirable, as it is mostly a brown, bitter slush, containing organs, eggs, and poop.

I hear they taste like crab.
Some bugs are quite flavourful. I can say from personal experience that Crickets (roasted and in powder form) taste nutty and earthy. Though i hear whole they taste just like popcorn.
I always think though, isn’t this the same as eating raw beef/chicken? If it’s not cooked/seasoned properly then of course it’s not going to be the same as say a good steak.
This sounds delicious. I’ve only seen them deep fried.
Thank you for this post, love the knowledge <3
Hehe
Naw. Just mean they are arthropods, like crabs. They may share some similarities in taste.
I’ve only ever eaten crickets and grasshoppers sauteed in garlic.
If I die w/o ever finding out I will call it a win.
It probably is as simple as you make it. I like sense!
Mate you and I will chow down on the finest spiders in the land, it’s a date.
An odd thread I can answer due to military life they taste like charcoal over a fire cooked and whatever oil you fry them in. Recommended use vinegar salt or white wine/vodka.
If possible fried chicken because bro cmon.
it taste like gnomes.
chicken, everything tastes like chicken. Except chicken. That is a myth.
