Blizz might miss the money if they left but what would other kinds of players miss?
The exact same as you do lol
Money
the carried guilds they tent to hit solo players
I meant other than the money. Group players bring competitors, collaborators, friends, rivals etc. I’d miss my friends if they stopped playing and probably would stop playing if my mates did too because playing with friends is the best experience in the game.
Other than the sub fee, what do people who are resolutely solo players bring to wow?
They contribute to the in-game economy. I buy the mats that they spend hours farming and I sell them boosts for things.
It’s a symbiotic relationship that we both benefit from.
Variety. Potential. Open World Encounters. Roleplayers. Economy.
Some solo players make your mats, farm transog you buy in the auction house, may help you questing solo in the outer world, be a preffesion crafter in dragonblight you may need something crafted, help increase spawn rates for enemies in an area.
Solo players also help fund your raid tiers/dungeons. And wait for them to be soloable two expansions from when they are released.
They may even help support the game by buying stuff from the shop to help keep this game in business.
The occasional free kill in warmode?
What do stubborn elitists telling people how to play and what they deserve bring to the game, other than making the community a thousand times worse by their very presence?
We keep the game actually alive without us the game would of shut down by now due to not being profitable enough
Markets - supply and demand. Ambience - toons in the world. Potential people for groups in the future as people can and do change play style.
They miss all the content that could be made and added to the game thanks to the money those solo players are no longer paying to Blizzard.
They miss the additional gatherables and boes on the AH that those players add to the supply… we’re already seeing Blizz merge the AH regionally in regard to gathered mats due to low supply on many servers.
They miss seeing more bustling activity in cities and out in the world due to less people playing with those people gone.
RP server players have less opportunities to RP due to less people playing. Even people who solo the mechanical content may still wish to engage in RP.
Solo play does not necessarily mean never having any interaction whatsoever with other players.
I’ve been a solo player since wotlk and frankly … I’m not here to bring anything to anyone except entertainment for myself. This is a video game whose sole purpose is to provide entertainment.
yeah who needs those 11,900,000+ $15.oo a month sub fees (I know you all would agree, I won’t even roll out of bed for $178,500,000.oo a month just for keeping the power on in the server room)
The game is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY healthier now and more profitable too that they cater only to the top 1% mythic raiders and ADHD mythic plus 1%ers
Do they have to bring anything else? At the end of the day, ultimately the money is all that matters. That’s what keeps the game running.
Is this another thinly veiled “why do people solo in an MMO” kind of thread?
Well for one they make entertaining forum posts
Just the chance to set aside the RL World and come into fantasy Land…
Do you have any source for your numbers, or are you just making things up?
Or worse, “If you solo play this game you’re pointless.”
