SoD and the anniversary realms are doing better than Era(which was abandoned by most of the players when TBC Classic launched) so… what does that say about #nochanges?
Every single class you see in pvp will have the exact same spec. Variety is good, and there will be none. People will play the most efficient class in every form of content. Choice means nothing. It will be incredibly boring and static.
There’s nothing wrong with not being able to excel at every aspect of the game with no sacrifice. That’s how Vanilla worked. You actually had to pick and choose in what areas you wanted to shine. But no, can’t have that!!! Just gotta make it like every other version of the game.
This is exactly what OP is trying to make a point of… What you just stated. You want Variety in pvp, we WANT variety in pve. That would also bring better loot distribution and faster gearing to the entire raid. People in PVE already bring the MOST efficient class in every form.
So I’m glad we can come to an agreement that change and variety can be a good thing for Classic wow.
C’mon. You’ve played Era, you know the changes reach far beyond bugs, even if we disagree on some of those.
The macro system is not the Vanilla macro system. The UI and menus have countless changes. Chronoboons, the ranking system, AV, end-patch character tuning, and many, many more things.
Some you would likely consider patching out exploits that I would consider breaking legitimate “warts and all” gameplay, such as changes to logout resets, mob pathing, etc. and it’s fine to agree to disagree on those, we still have far too many changes to the game to say, “That’s #NoChanges” with a straight face, imo.
The core elements are the actual balancing and content, which is almost entirely unchanged in Era. Yes it’s on the end of vanilla patch and you didn’t get progressive patches. Other than that they added what the chrono boon?
Is mob pathing and logout reset points not part of core gameplay? Is the ranking system not part of core gameplay? Is the macro system not part of core gameplay? I suppose you could argue that nameplate view distance isn’t part of core gameplay, and we could just agree to disagree, but it feels like I’d have to agree to disagree with fundamentals here, at which point I realize we just don’t see eye to eye on the meaning of words or core aspects of WoW.
So anyway, good luck advocating for what you want. I hope you get it.
