What did the Titans lie about again?

I’m not as lore-versed as many people here on the forums, and I’m still confused about what the Primalists and Rasz meant when they said the “Titans lied.”

After the Tyr-related quest where we observe the Titans kicking Old God and Elemental butt, were we supposed to be surprised that the ordering of Azeroth was violent? What else should we have expected?

Or have we not discovered the lie yet? (What if the Titans killed the First Ones?)

“History is written by the victors.”

Realistically, it’s probably all a bunch of half-truths anyway.

They lied about the mystery box. Tune in next time!

There’s a book in the game that says Odyn manipulated the history books to paint the black empire as entirely evil and the Titans as entirely good and had his people wipe out any trace that the black empire did good things or the Titans did bad things for azeroth.

There’s also lore in the emerald dream explaining that one of the Titans ripped a world tree that eonar had been gifted by Elune out of azeroth, as he saw it “disorderly,” injuring azeroth in the process. This event supposedly is what created the emerald dream, as eonar wept over the planet and her tears nourished the roots that were left behind.

Let’s not forget when they ripped an old god out of her and almost killed her.

Yeah no, Aman’thul was a terrible dude.

They weren’t supposed to turn all of the protos into new dragons. They turned the eggs that were supposed to be safe from that.

There could be anything in that box! Even a boat!

Pretty sure they told all the dragons they wouldn’t turn any more dragons into new dragons against their will, and then they went an infected all the eggs with their titan magic, turning all the dragons born from those eggs into new dragons against their will

Do we know where that tree was?

Grizzly Hills, it’s all the roots you go into during the questing there

Ah, I’m still super curious about the tree Il’gynoth inhabits in the Nightmare, since it has no counterpart in Un’goro.

Plot twist. The Titans are corrupting Azeroth into a Titan.

That’s actually a theory people have been throwing around a bit lately. That Azeroth is actually a First one that the Titans were trying to force into being, well, a Titan.

What a choice… Be a super glowy wind-chime, a edgelord demon, a woman with hooves and antlers who doesn’t show enough on the mini-map… A literal walking skeleton, a japanese tentacle monster, OR a stone forged being obsessed with order. No wonder she picked the 7th option.

Azeroth being a first one has been my theory since the first ones were revealed.

But the expansion title the last Titan kinda threw a wrench in that.

I could be wrong now that I’m reading more. Elun’Ahir was the one Aman’thul ripped out, Vordrassil (the one in Grizzly Hills) was destroyed by the Cenarion Circle/Druids/Night Elves when it became corrupted.

Elun’Ahir could have been in Un’goro at one point? I’m not sure its location has ever been confirmed?

You are correct with Vordrassil. That one was cause of Old God-y goodness.

They also said they were responsible for all of creation and that we should never be told about the existence of the first ones.

That would be neat to finally learn the fate of that tree.

I wonder if they know we’ve been to Shadowlands and Zereth Mortis.

I think the prevailing theory is that the Primus is/was going to be the biggest bad of SL and he’s working with the Titans, so if that’s true they’d definitely know.
