Is this supposed to happen? I thought it was not supposed to drop something you cannot use. If stuff that is unusable drops, why do people do the event? Can it be traded in for a token or something?
I think it’s random between anything in Reshanor’s table. I got plate and then leather on my hunter.
The stuff is warbound so you can send it to an alt that can use it.

World bosses once per week guaranteed drop a warbound piece from its loot table. Before that system it could only drop a piece you could use, but it wasnt guaranteed. So overall the new system is an upgrade.
Pretty much, yeah. I would still hold onto the plate item, though. You can put it in your warbank and then take it out on an alt that uses plate if you have any that are in the process of levelling or at 80 already.
For the World Boss in K’aresh, just like the WB in Undermine, the first kill on your account will drop any class of gear, regardless if the toon who killed the boss can wear that armor or not. After that all kills on that WB will NOT drop any gear. One and done for the week.
LOL, I am a single player. Only alts I have is a 60 to order stuff from my main for the craft quests. I wish I had time for alts, but these days, not so much.
Fair. I only have alts in mail and cloth classes right now, myself.
Why on earth didn’t they implement the trade thing where you got 3 hours to trade with other participants at the event? Geez, God forbid they would make us interact more…
I got a piece of plate. I’ll bet a tank somewhere got some cloth. Let us trade. It seems pretty simple.
Overall a net win imho. Though, I do play alts of all armor classes.
The drops will still be useful for me. So guaranteed drops works better for me.
Undermine wb only ever dropped items my current class could use for me. You’re telling me it could drop anything? I don’t fo alts really… That automatically makes that wb pointless to me. I want gear for the character I’m playing, not an alt I’m not this season.
So sorry. This toon is my main, and she wears leather. Almost all of her gear drops from the WB in Undermine were plate, and as it turns out they were in the majority repeats of the same piece of plate armor as well.
Because the drop is guaranteed. It used to be you’d have a low chance to get something relevant for that character. Now you always get something and can send it to any character on that account.
Oof! That’s some annoying RNG. Yeah, I’m hoping Reshanor drops me anything mail or cloth next week, haha.
You know, they could even tag them unique. That was at least you could hang onto stuff and not get duplicates. So that way each time your chances would be greater for something you were after.
My RNG is generally tripe. I had s1 without getting a single raid trinket drop despite having several raiders with every healing trinket on the loot table.
I don’t roll over a 54 on anything. I typically don’t see enough tier tokens for my class drop before moving into heroic where the people with set already roll anyway because item level upgrade.
World boss dropping me anything not for my main makes it automatically a waste of my time.
It’s something that started with the world boss in Undermine. Warbound loot often drops in raid and M+ but it’s always bonus loot that’s one upgrade track lower than what normally drops. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to have a world boss give you random warbound loot which may or may not be able to be equipped by any character you have.
Ouch. Yeah, terrible RNG always hurts. I’m just glad I have toons that use two armour types now… I used to have only mail wearers. At least that’s another armour type that doesn’t go to waste for me.
It’s really just dumb. I haven’t had luck with RNG since wrath. And I got fed gear then because of raid comp(was server best geared hpally for a while because we literally didn’t have many people that used her gear) … Except turning tide. Last one that dropped was given to a trial after naxx went off dkp who gquit three weeks later. I never did get it. Or valanyr. -_-.
But unless I’m literally the only mail wearer or in a given token type, I’m not getting armor. And I’ll probably not see them drop if I am. Lol.
It’s funny, but not at the same time. Vault shouldn’t be ones main gear source.
Well keeping in theme with the header and not " why is my loot off spec" I have , on more than one occasion, been miraculously disconnected from the server at the moment I am supposed to loot the boss ( in dungeon and outside) and if I was lucky I came back before the group was disbanded and i was removed from the instance.
This all used to happen BEFORE the game mailed you the missing drops.
And sometimes I would come back to the group and the drop would be pure garbage like an intellect mace for my enhancement shaman.
So paranoid person that I am , I don’t believe the drops were always random. maybe they are today , because there are millions of players and a different company owns the game, but I don’t think they always were.
But I agree, a world boss drop shouldn’t be off spec.
I want a purple drop for my class and I want it now! ( stands on bad egg machine)
