And if problematic back then, how would you fix it?
For me:
Druid: Symbiosis. It was really cool to have. I get it was removed due to balancing, but honestly, they just needed to pick the Druid’s abilities a little better. IIRC some people complained about it adding ‘bloat’ to other classes. They could just add a passive bonus to an utility stat like Leech or Speed in exchange instead of a near useless spell.
Druid (Balance): This one I remember it was a long time ago, but I really liked the very first iteration of Eclipse, where the gauge cycled on its own. I honestly don’t recall if it was terrible or not or why it was redesigned.
Priests: Shining Force. Why on earth it was removed? Not like priests have many ways to create distance between themselves and their opponents.
Dark Bargain for warlocks. I miss having an immunity like some classes have.
As far as something more likely to happen, I’d prefer the DF version of Burning Rush which helped mitigate the damage taken quite a bit more than the current version.
Another option might be the original version of Fire and Brimstone that we had back in MoP which cost embers/soul shards but made certain spells AoE. Just gave destruction a lot more control over burst and we weren’t as reliant on mobs staying in Rain of Fire.
And no, demon hunters are not the same thing, the only similarity they share is the fact DHs button is titled Metamorphosis. Past that they’re completely different.
This talent was for havoc and got deleted in BFA I think. it literally allowed us to one shot almost everyone while they were stunned from us jumping on them with meta. Good times.
Gosh why I didn’t think about this one! Was the first or the second iteration that would let you tank without fear of the resource bar depleting? It was a long time ago.
The only reason why I didn’t add this one is that, due to the current standards, I feel it would be much better as a barbershop option rather than a talent.
Good answers here so far. I look forward to MoP Classic just because it had all my favorite cut spells pretty much.
Monks used to have something called Spinning Fire Blossom which made you shoot out a cool projectible that could root people from afar which was neat to have in PvP, even if it was difficult to use.
And a big one is the Priest chakras. I never actually played heals back in the day but the concept behind those looked cool af.
Like the others, Metamorphosis. Man, that was so much fun! I recall saving a few dungeon runs when the tank died by using that. I also miss Harvest Life, Dark Apotheosis and Life Tap.
How would I add these back?
I’d rework Grimoire of Sacrifice and add all these back through that.
