with balance changes still up in the air with stuff just changing in the last day or two i’m not sure what i want to go with. night fae and kyrian look to be really good for PvE but the night fae ability seems useless in pvp situations while the kyrian at least has use with the line of sight thing. flayed shot and chakram have underwhelming damage supposedly but would get more mileage in my planned usage because i want to do m+, raid, and pvp. i love the venthyr and necrolord sets + their locations and kyrian doesn’t look bad but wouldn’t be my first pick if their ability wasn’t so good for m+.
i don’t know much about soulbinds and everything though
I’m going Necrolord because I’m feeling that vibe. I think the shield as an extra defensive will be good. Another set of Chakrams will be good as well as I always run the Chakrams talent as SV.
I’m mostly in to random bgs and world pvp. I’m not concerned with m+, or raiding.
Probably Kyrian for me. I like the uniqueness of the fact that I can hit people through walls - even for pve that can be huge cuz now you can get behind things and still do dps while the others have to wait for the boss to stop doing his ability. I could see NightFae being op as well but I don’t like a 2 min cd either - on the otherhand the fact that it IS a 2 min cd means it needs to be a devastating ability. I think for pvp Venthyr looks best and possibly best for single target in pve as well depending on how they tune it. As a MM hunter it seems op that I can just pick a ledge to teleport to. The necrolords have potential due to the focus gain and the fact that MM will be focused starved early and often.
Hard to say which will be the best but I’m thinking either Kyrian or Venthyr atm. This is all from a MM hunter perspective btw.
You are correct but we will see how they tune the proc on Flayed shot - I could absolutely see that being op for both pvp and single target pve if they just made a slight buff to the proc rate.
Night Fae, I’m not apart of the min/max culture, can’t stand it honestly. I’m going to choose NF for fantasy reasons, I’ll take FUN over a 1%(or whatever it is) damage boost IMO, that’s just me though
Note: If NF ends up being the best then it’s a win-win for me but it’s not my “go to” reasons for my choice.
The irony of a Blood Elf hunter having have fought the Scourge in Quel’thelas for a good chunk of their life and then being in the Necrolord covenant in Shadowlands rings all the right bells for me. (And moreso if we later get any Dark Ranger customisation. Which I doubt. Nevertheless)
It would have been Venthyr but I also don’t give a single lovely brown crap about KT and his storyline.
That’s funny. My Belf, according to my own head cannon was one of the defenders of Silvermoon when it fell to the scourge. She survived, but in her mind the forsaken and the scourge are and always were the same thing.
Thus, while I don’t know which of the other three I’ll pick for her, most likely Kyrian, I know she’ll not choose necrolord.
Venthyr 100%. Solidified that decision since Blizzcon 2019.
Even though everyone is “knee jerking” going to Night’s Fae because it’s the “BiS Covenant” ability, Flayed Shot from Venthyr has a DoT AND it insta procs a Kill Shot and useable regardless of enemy HP. That’s is a huge bonus itself. Door of Shadows also creates a “blow back” and AoE damages enemies in the area when you port.
The new change for Venthyr and Night’s Far Covenant ability are both 10% ability increase. Plus, keep in mind, this is only the first week or two to see how these covenants will balance out. Ion said they (Blizzard) won’t be patching major covenant changes during a major patch which is basically the start of SL. So, choose what you want to play, not because you “have to”. If ppl shame you for picking “underwhelming” Covenant abilities b/c it’s not your BiS, well, lack of better term, screw them, they don’t pay for your sub or dictate how you play for the experience. Besides, you can change to another Covenant at some point as well, keep that in mind as well. Good luck to you all!
Pretty sure its second best. only slightly in aoe but by a significant margin on single target fights. Quite a few people are going night fae (myself included) despite this because of lore, transmog, pets, collecting forms, the look of the ability and it being nature based.
Yes. In fact, you can teleport up on top of things, as long as you have line of sight to the target location (so you have to place the target like on the edge of the roof you’re teleporting to). Some of the treasures in Revendreth are much easier to get with it, and in fact, one of the quests in the Revendreth campaign requires you to use it to bypass a barrier.
