What counters what?

Just curious as to what the hard counters were back then. I know a couple obvious ones but not many.

Disclaimer: I know any class can do well in PvP. I’m not asking what class is best.

The counter in the Grim Guzzler is pretty hard. The barman walks back and forth along it constantly.

Paladins have no counters.

Mages counter melee I guess.

I know to some retail folks, it won’t matter, however to play paladin you must be alliance.

Durids are the best! No one can beat a Durid! Cat iz for fite! Bear iz for Rawr! Seal iz for swim! and Owlchiken iz for KABOOM!

Mages counter Rogues, Warriors, Paladins, and sometimes Hunters. Warlocks and druids beat them.
Rogues counter Warriors, Druids, and sometimes Hunters. Mages, Warlocks and Paladins beat them.
Paladins are kind of a wash. Depending on spec they can really counter anyone except mages and warlocks.
Hunters counter Warriors, Druids and Rogues, sometimes Mages. They lose to Warlocks and Paladins.
Druids counter Warriors, Rogues, and Mages. They lose to Warlocks and maybe Paladins.
Warlocks counter everyone.
Warriors counter nobody.
Don’t you even dare mention Shamans.

Im actually pretty excited to go back to alliance, that’s what faction i started on in vanilla. Spent most of my wow time on horde throughout retail.

Always liked the alliance theme & architecture more than horde (hated the mud huts).

I might consider it if they weren’t allied with those blue pointy eared monstrosities.

Humans I can take or leave in most games, Dwarves are cool, Gnomes are meh.

To be fair I highly dislike Trolls as well. I love Orcs in almost any game/setting and Forsaken are cool beans. Honestly I used to hate the Cows but I made a druid during the stress test and it kinda grew on me. Since I am not big on raids and will probably only do quests/dungeons/pvp I may roll one as my second character as they are capable of almost everything. Crap im ranting and derailing … Sorry :smiley:

Shadow Priests aren’t part of “Everyone”? Why do Warlocks not kill them along with Everyone at the same time?

You just left out Shadow Priest which can be the stuff of nightmares. They are the best 1vX in Classic

So rogues counter druids but druids counter rogues? Rogues can beat any class easily, I don’t think you know what your talking about.

Not really. They fall apart against Hunters, Mages, Warlocks, and Spriests.

I honestly don’t know. I wanna say Druids win it because they can sit in bear for the rogues opener, and infinitely entangling roots, but it’s such an underplayed class I haven’t really seen it.

A well played rogue can beat any other class played badly, or unprepared.

The Scissor Paper Rock scenario really only exists on an even footing in a fair fight, and only between Warriors, Rogues and Mages.
