My understanding is any buff the enemy has. Is it capable of removing paladin shields? Hunter turtle? Mage frost shield when they do when they about to die and can’t move. Warriors defensives? Warlock armor?
At this point, with all the bugs, I might is it even working?

It works just fine. It works on dispellable magic buffs. Not all magic buffs are dispellable, though. Buffs that can be dispelled will be larger with a more obvious border on them.
It can purge things like combust, alter time, dark soul, PI, blessing of protection, and mind control on your teammate. It can be really useful even if it doesn’t affect physical defensives or straight up immunities.
