That’s how it looks on my screen too. I was really hoping for a dark red like what it shows in the wowhead article.
It’s reddish pink on my IPS screen.
A very faded out red almost in the pink category.
I have to agree, it looks magenta on my pc. Definitly Not a ruby red. It leans too pink. It needs to be more of a blue hue red to look like the concept art.
It doesn’t appear in game like it does on the promotional screenshots. It’s like the gamma on the body is using a different setting than the rest of the game.
I think they still need to add the Ferrari red clear coat
Pink is famously one of the most challenging colors to accurately represent on screens and thus its tone will vary wildly depending on hardware.
Maybe it is just slightly weak in blue and green. It wouldn’t take much to make red more dominant.
This is just a guess, just one more possibility. What I’m giving you with the numbers is the is the difference between red and pink with one suggestion as to what the problem may be.
I found where the color-combination came from in-game!!!
Went to the Sunwell yesterday for some tailoring pattern drops (got one, two to go) and as I was splattering mobs all over the pavement, I noticed the windows looked to be the same combo of coral red and warm pink.
Checked and yep, the same!
It pulses color, but what it turns into when it’s lighter looks like someone turned the brightness all the way up but did not adjust the contrast. It’s too washed out.
