There is lots of info on classes that are strong in dungeons, raids, and PvP. But there isn’t much available for those of us interested on picking a main for soloing Delves. My assumption is tanks will be the strongest followed by pet classes. I expect melee DPS with good survivability would do okay. I also expect pure casters will struggle, and healers won’t be worth doing in Delves.
But I am curious how classes are doing in practice. Especially classes like mages, evokers and priest.
What classes are considers strong soloing higher difficulty Delves?

Pets might be viable? But pets didn’t help that much in Torghast, so there is that.
I’d assume any class that can heal and tank, so Paladins and Druids.
oh! To be clear, this is all assumption. I don’t have any data to back this up, I’m just assuming these two will be strong picks.

Self sustaining tanks and Ret paladins felt best so far. Priest sucked.

While only doing 3s and 4s right now, on Enhance they aren’t too bad.
I’d probably still do them as Ret. Watched a guy with less gear then me just obliterate mobs in the open world. He was probably doing 60% more damage than me and taking half the damage.

I am on the fence between Paly and Monk, so I am glad to here Ret is doing well. How is Windwalker doing in the Delves? They have always seemed a bit squishy to me, but I am hearing they are a blast to play in the beta.
I haven’t tested them in TWW, but WW is always squishier than Ret because of how it plays. WW survivability comes from things like leg sweep, touch of paralysis, and Ring of Peace, which allow you to step back from your enemy and heal up…
Ret survivability is much simpler, and for the most part they can keep themselves up while fighting.

For some reason I think the delve leaderboards will be solid red.
I have every intention of completing them as an ele sham

I wouldn’t overlook the purple or the pink.
Basically the same classes that excel at solo play. So tanks and hybrid classes or any class with a pet. So basically any class that isn’t a rogue or a mage.
There’s a very good reason why you hardly ever see a mage player at the start of an expac in open world.

I can find out for you this weekend. In the toss up of changing to Ret or WW for the next expansion. First time changing my main in 20 years

Most strong solo classes like dk,dh,bm hunter. Same as torghast.
I’ve always felt frost mages are under-appreciated as a solo class. It’s a different playstyle needing to kite powerful foes around, but they have a good kit of tools to play with.

They’re wanting to balance Delves so all classes are viable solo. (I also hope the Community embraces class ladders for Delves)
The question really would be what specs. BM Hunter could laugh through it while MM struggles.
I would say Hunter, Lock, DH, DKs, Druids and Paladins will have the easiest time though. Possibly even in that order.
As God the Devil indended.

Well i thought my bm hunter would do well, but the pets lose aggro so fast, especially on the boss,my loc seems to do better, druids are good, priests are meh, havent tried my pally yet but i think he would do well
It’s hard to beat the extremely independent dk… largely because of death strike and various self heals
And with the new talent updates its a beast against magic wielders if one opts for that build
Personally I can’t play anything officially outside of a dk or a paladin consistently even if some of the designs for it e.g dnd cleave
