What class would you play in a fresh vanilla server?

Title is self explanatory. Assuming no extreme class changes or balance adjustments, what class would you play if Blizzard would release a fresh slate of vanilla servers as they did back in 2019?

Personally, I might try a shadow priest or druid, as classes that are particularly strong in pvp.

Warrior or rogue. I did mage the first time around (not this mage).

I also did warlock, which is extremely OP in PVP. You can beat R14 warriors with just T2 gear lul. The only issue with lock is shards.

Lock also usually loses to rogue if the rogue is good, and there are a lot of rogues in Vanilla.

Spriest would be fun just to own rogues. Too bad it is trash in PVE. Spriest also kind of requires PVP gear since there is no good tier, which is a bummer.

Mage.

I’ll be going dwarf hunter this go around as main I believe.

Shaman. Played human warlock originally.

very original

Spriest isn’t original either. Everyone knows it owns in PVP lul. It’s the most faceroll PVP class there is…

I went caster 1st time, so I’d go melee this time.

Simple.

I’m not sure if this is true. Usually when I look up class diversity on classic realms, Rogue tends to be towards the bottom. Unless it’s changed dramatically since I last checked.

In classic rogues where everywhere bro. Maybe you are confusing WOTLK with original classic???

Lock was by far the least popular class. I got free loot handed to me because there were no locks. I got every tier set, full set.

Maybe. 10char

Is a fresh server coming?

Probably not. People are just hoping it will.

I’m thinking priest this time. I find are fun to play and I enjoy healing in both PVE and PVP.

I tried pally as my second 60 in SoM after many failed attempts to level one and confirmed that the class is not for me. Priest though I leveled one to pocket-heal a friend who wanted to grind out R14 but we never ended up playing those chars together, nor did I raid with it, I did end up ranking it and liked it in PVP but it was at the tail end of Classic so it was more solo. So this next time I think I want to do a priest properly.

If I wanted to go more DPS/non-meta then I’d probably do a hunter. They are fun solo out in the world and admittedly not great at raiding but very useful and fun to play in both wPVP and battlegrounds.

Rats, would love a fresh server

This is true in PvE servers, but they are packed on PvP servers for obvious reasons.

Wrong, they were everywhere even in PVE. They do as much damage as warrior does in PVE lul, except maybe on trash.

Mage and warrior where the most popular for sure, but rogue was a close 2nd or 3rd to these two.

My main will be warrior as always. But this time i’m leveling a mage also staggered ahead a few levels just because warrior is always poor :money_mouth_face:

Did a Ret pally and slogged my way through to Naxx 40. I love her, but would probably pass on an encore.

Would consider rolling a shaman, not sure what spec though.

I did a lock for SoM and while i didnt get incredibly geared i had a fun time with the class. Its apparent that comparing it with the wrath version that vanilla lock is just so more powerful. That being said im not entirely sure I want to go lock again.

Spriest is a good pick. I was thinking of it too. But if you want to PVP you need ranking gear and it’s hard to get because you want the R13 stuff minimum. Spriest has no good gear options from raid for PVP.

Lock, mage, and rogue all have great Tier gear for PVP. T1 rogue gear is busted for PVP.
