What class will I have the easiest time finding groups with?

I’m considering buying BfA and getting back into raiding after I bought a month and started leveling some characters again.

I’ve narrowed down what I want to play to one these 4:

Disc Priest
Holy Priest
Guardian Druid
Balance Druid

What one is the best in it’s role? I.E does Balance do well among other ranged DPS and is sought after for raid comps, or Guardian is garbage compared to the other tanks and not wanted, or holy priest good, disc priest bad etc etc.

It all depends. If you are pugging normal/heroic, tanks will be very desired, even guardian druid. It will be harder to get into a guild raid as guardian though, since most established raid teams already have tanks. After that, any of the remaining three are fine. Guilds and pugs are always looking for healers and ranged dps.

If you want to get into m+, disc or balance are your best bet. Holy is fine below like +13 though.

Agreed with the tauren. Also, keep in mind that PVE raiding is being displaced by M+ as the end game.

Did you just assume my race?

What is m+ is it like a 5 man instead of the 10-25 size raids?

Mythic+ is an infiniate scaling system on 5 man dungeons. You’re limited by your key level. Do the dungeon within the timer - typicaly about half an hour - and your key level promotes, giving you access to a dungeon with stronger mobs and better loot. Complete the dungeon, but not within the timer, and your key level goes down.

Unlike raids, Mythic+ is not on a lockout, so you can run it as many times as you want. Combined with the warforging and titanforging system, you can get better loot for the difficulty in Mythic+ than in raids. You also get a weekly cache, where can get near mythic raid loot for heroic raid effort, assuming you’re a desirable spec that can get invites.

This is only true if you have time to spam m+ a lot or get extremely lucky.

At half an hour per dungeon, you can do a lot of spamming in a 6-9 hour raid schedule.

If you are totally indifferent to lore, asthetics, and role, then obvioualy druid will give you the best bang for your buck. Tanks are always needed, and even with the bad bear reputation, you’ll still get group invites

Agreed. And balancing issues are always a moving target. One patch (or two) a spec will be weak, and then amazing for the rest of the expansion. Druid is almost always “good.” At times, great.

Id say priest or druid with the ability and willingness to swap to another role. I.e shadow and heal spec and balance and resto.

Druid is the safest choice. Best healer in M+, one of the best raid DPS classes, and it’s always easy to find a group as a tank, even if Guardian is not the best tank right now. Guardian is getting buffed in 8.2 also.

not even close for the vast majority of WoW’s endgame population

your average pugging player, especially if they only want to play DPS will be lucky to complete a challenging M+ with worthwhile loot once every 2 hours

Your average pugging player won’t be getting into mythic raids at all.

I grant that the M+ loot advantage is much bigger for healers and, especially, tanks.

What a load of rubbish.

I think this is fair…average pugging player being sub 600 Raider IO

The hardest and most valuable thing in a raid to ascertain is a good ranged dps

not a tank and not a healer and certainly not a melee.

Of all that you posted, this by a mile.

Tanks is the role with less people, so it’s easier to get in groups. WAAAAAY EASIER.

For M+, getting into groups as a tank or healer is easy. Out of priest or druid options, druid heals is considered one of the best specs for M+ (I know that wasn’t one of your considerations, but I think you should know). Tanks are in very high demand right now, so even if tank druid is not the best tank, many would take you just to even get a tank. I currently do M+ as resto druid, holy priest, outlaw rogue, mistweaver monk, and unholy dk.
