What class should I play for alliance side?

Hey all! I want to see the alliance side of things for this expac. For any reason you deem fit (lore, play style, easiest to level with, etc) which character should I play as? The options im considering:

Draenei Paladin
Dwarf hunter
Night elf demon hunter
Human Mage

Notes about my style and preference:

  • I’ve enjoyed playing DH dps a lot (I even got the green glaives!).
  • I’ve also enjoyed leveling my mage to 30 ish as a fire mage (not opposed to spec changing though). Bonus: this char is named heisenberg with the squire PVP reward “pet” from legion renamed “jesse pinkman”, lol!
  • Im not really enamored with my hunter (i’m hoping that tinker will be a new class next expac and will be mail class so I can reroll my dwarf to that so I have one of each armor type). So this is my long shot.
  • Paladin is an oddity to me, since I already tank and dps on my main, a warrior. Im not opposed especially if you have a strong argument, but i kind of feel that I’ve already done this.
  • Lastly, I have the level boost to 110 from the expac, and my paladin and mage would require use of this, but this is kind of a good thing (see hunter note that I want one of each armor style max or near max level)

Per above I’m inclined to do DH or mage, but would like and appreciate your input. Im mostly a horde player so i’m hopeful the community can steer me to what might be the best experience for this expac to really feel the alliance story.

Notice Blizzard CM’s nowhere listed on this list are any of the Allied races locked behind Achievements or Rep grinds.

I would say Mage since they seem to always have some spec that tops the charts no matter the xpac.

I say go with Mage. Partially because I’m biased towards magic classes. But Frost is fun and with Jaina being such a big figure in BfA, it’ll be fun to be a human mage. :slight_smile:

Dwarf hunter as they can do just about anything and go anywhere and take care of themselves. Plus if you do BM, you can get Hati when it comes with 8.1.5. :heart_eyes:

What type of content will you be doing?

Out of these choices, I would go with the Human Mage.

You should try the 110 class trial on a mage. I find them pretty fun at in the higher levels but pretty slow and boring while leveling when you lack spells, talents, and mystery.

From what I have seen the Alliance are lacking in ranged classes right now so it should not be hard getting into a raiding guild if you play a Mage.

If you use your boost I would definitely use it on the Mage, on the Pally you can tank or heal for instant dungeon ques which should speed up the leveling process.

Thank you all! I think im going to try the mage, but i’m pleasantly surprised how much love the dwarf hunter got! Also I totally forgot about the 110 trial, which sounds like a great idea to finalize my… our decision :slight_smile: thank you again!

Oh and fyi, i would be paying in casual mode. I used to be an epic, near top of server tank back in the day, but now I have to adult and stuff… boo real life, lol

I would hold off on the paladin until you unlock Lightforged, I just don’t see them being anything else realistically and that way you won’t be stuck with two or repeat the leveling experience.

Dwarf Hunter is iconic (they’re in the game’s very first cinematic!) but the WoW gunshot sounds really grate on me, even after they quieted down from Vanilla’s BANG BANG BLAO

Nelf Demon Hunter and Human Mage are pretty standard. Personally I’d go with Gnome Mage but Humans are fine, especially female.
