The reason resto goes venthyr is for a spot in m+ groups which is a valid reason but it doesn’t perform as well. Venthyr is also a lot easier to play. Necro isn’t hard to pick up for resto but it allows for a ton of min maxing if you wanna go for that.
Night fae is probably the go to for purely resto after the buffs but that’s only if you don’t have to go venth for m+.
All covenants are pretty close for resto tbh.

I don’t know why anyone would choose Necrolord, Maldraxxus is absolutely the worst zone in game.
I hate the pools of poison, I hate the way the monsters look, I hate their mounts.
It’s more depressing than the Maw…

Probably the beta information before Night Fae was nerfed I’d imagine.
Def DK and Shaman. As people have mentioned classes like Druid also have good Necrolord options depending on what spec you play, Shadow Priest is probably another notable one.
True, I totally forgot that Night Fae was going to be best for DK for a while. Thank god they changed that.
