Paladins and Mages became insanely busted off the back of their reworks.
Rogue and dk for me
I donāt like what happened to all dk specs after mop
I didnāt mind epidemic unholy in legion, but blood in cata and mop was so insanely fun. I donāt recognize any of the 3 specs now
Sub is also an abomination. I miss mutilate assas. I miss old combat and hate outlawās management
demon hunter. Non-dh players kept whining on how simplistic it is and now we have bloated mess with mandatory momentum. I want my 3button dh back, i loved it.
Idk, Iāve been quite happy with DH even though Iāve been apparently playing it wrong for years.
Yea. I think a better forum title would have been what class isnāt going in the wrong direction.
Hunter no question. And itās really simple:
Hunter started as the class you played at range with your single bonded pet.
Now zero hunter specs are played optimally at range with a single pet. Itās a disgrace.
My DK was at her best in BFA with my corrupted gear.
Slappy hands and obliterate are great. But overall I feel weaker while Unholy only gets better

Iād rather see Disc have interesting choices regarding damage abilities. If your dungeon group always has atonement, then the way you heal is based on choosing the right damage skill at the right time. You have smite, which is just for filler and keeping people topped. Mind Blast before a big damage comes to reduce damage dealt. Penance for a big burst of healing.
There could even be a skill that temporarily cancels permanent atonement and instead gives a more powerful atonement to selected people.
Atonement to me just feels like a boring maintenance buff instead of an actually fun thing. I donāt like casting weak heals on people so that I can later cast normal heals on them.
Canāt say monk because itās never touched an forgotten xD
Druids. Instead of four specializations, we should only have one: Druid. It will allow us to switch mastery values and agility/intellect depending on if weāre in cat, bear, moonkin, or humanoid form. It would definitely be imbalanced, but Iād enjoy it. Iām not sure how talents would work.
All classes pre-demon hunter need a visual upgrade. Most classes feel so boring to play and look at. Rogue has some of the most boring gameplay and it should be fast paced fun and lots of movement, shadow/teleport strikes and flips. Thereās a cool looking pvp move thatās of course useless even in pvp where you do a backflip into the air then fly towards your enemy.
Rogues had both of that in Legion, and Blizzard took it away mid-expansion. Because as it turns out, having to do teleports and backflips all the time in PvE is really bad for your health.
Same reason why a lot of DH hate momentum. On paper itās really cool, in practise it makes you eat a lot of avoidable mechanics. But at least DH can choose the direction they go in. Rogues couldnāt. It was always at the target.
Pretty much every class was listed within the first ten posts lol. Which just says how much personal preference matters with this question and not so much measurable reasons like DPS.
I have to say Augmentation. Some of the nerfs were warranted, I just hope they donāt go too much into the direction of downplaying the idea of a support DPS spec.
Wall of text inc.
So like. Iām gonna speak out of both sides of my mouth here -meaning i feel a little hypocritical with this take- but i think most specs are going the wrong way yet i play alot of them and have a good time. Perhaps i wash over the nuance we could find with a careful eye and its likely just me - myself that wants something different from the game now as time goes on, but most roles feel similar. Meaning melee feel similar. Most casters feel similar. Most healers feel similar. This isnt entirely bad, right. Different doesnt necessarily mean better and i get it, as these roles mature they need to do more things to be versatile rather than have niche situations to bring them then forget about them. Plus no one likes a static meta where one or two classes dominate every encounter.
Ill also recognize Blizz have a hard job as all specs have a couple talent routes to choose which can change it further. So i get the need for some overlap and homogenization. It would be immensely difficult for all 40+ specs (or howeverany there are) to be completely different. But most specs fall into, build/spend/proc. I cant even blame blizz. Proc based gameplay adds unpredictability and excitement, and i do think most classes are more fun/interactive than they used to be, but i dont feel they have a huge identity? Like. Whats the difference between crusader strike and scourge strike. Nothing really. They are both filler attacks for two handed classes. Yes oneās a builder, the other is a type of dump. But they dont bring anything different to game play other than the name. Yes, ones shadow dmg. Ones holy. But big deal? Its just numbers. Dmg type doesnt DO anything different. Ie. Shadow dmg doesnāt behave any differently than holy dmg. On the other side of that thought, does it need to? How many different ways is there to swing a sword that need to be called unique? Iām not sure. But i cant help playing classes and just wishing some things were different. More flavorful.
Some nit picky examples
ādemon hunter - specifically chaos strike, should always cleave. You have a double sided sword in both hands. His whole goal is to wade into the thick of the enemy and cause dmg with every movement. What IS chaos dmg. Why should i care my demon hunter brings that rather than fire dmg. Does chaos naturally ignore shields? Can it be healed? Does chaos flame seek out targets. Can it cause dmg to my allies? I get some of this would be a pain. And for gameplay reasons we cant always explore flavor, but just some thought.
ā Death knights. Frost strike if very spammy, and there for yawn. If anything make thay the builder and let annihilate hit for hugeā¦maybe after youve stacked frost strike ice and u shatter it.
-Unholy should be more about ghosty evil and shadow dmg, and zombies than popping sores. I want the option for floating weapona to be my companion, a possible benefit being it takes less dmg, or cant be snared, but can now be banished.
-Blood should be focused on popping sores cause sores are skin and blood after all. More disease focused with blood. Boils could slow and weaken. Spreading when they pop.
Whatever the case, make deathknights the slow but ever creeping raid boss. Get rid of the pop cooldowns and hide until there back bs that happens in pvp.
Paladins need other ways of fixing problems besides hammers. Like. Anything. Temporarily envoking angels or light soldiers for moves could be cool. A good step in the right direction was the three swing wake of ashes imo. Gave them a combo of sorts.
āhunter - i would love beast master to have a move where instead of disengage, you used your actual pet to move. Like you call it to you and grab a hold of its collar as it drags you to escape. For a brief time you control the both of you. Or you ride a stable pet and can shoot off of it like mongol archers used to do.
Rogue - outlaw should have the option to not use pistols. I dont think it should be the āpirateā spec. That should just be a flavor allowed with glyphs or talents.
Out law (combat) fantasy has always been. (To me and others) A rogue that can go toe-to-toe with other melees, relying on dodge, parry, and controle. Able to use stealth well, but not solely reliant on it.
Subtlety should get hemo back. Its kind of just a shadow strike spam. Not horrible design, because the fantasy was always man āwhat if i could spam ambush and eat this noob alive⦠if only.ā And thats fun. But i wouldnt mind a little more of the showdown: Boom, big opener, half ur health is gone, now u seem me, whatās ur next move >:D Hemo let you stay in the open with a little more teeth, rather than just popping shadow dance and ambush spam again. Although admittedly it just became a hemo spam lol
āmonk- brewmaster - it should have more reactove moves imo. Its trying to evoke drunken master vibes, so give me that style of move. Guy hits me, gives a whiplash hit. The stronger the hit the stronger the response. I reallise this would be hard to cater to but sometjing more drunken master, less āi smash kegs and breathe fire lawl.ā Not that they should abandon that tone, just temper it.
I could go on, but this is already to long. Cheers if you read this far.
Disc priest⦠they added more buttons for less healing and damage. They at least have admitted they have issues though.

I sometimes think they should get rid of 3 dps specs and combine to just 2 really good ones. But as long as it has a fantasy, and a niche i want the option.
Omg couldnt agree more. I was so annoyed when feint was just a spin with jazz hands. Which is the same as fan of knives⦠which is the same as shuriken cloud⦠which is the same as shurkien storm⦠which is the same as the outlaw lunge⦠its like i get it. Sometimes you re-use assets but come on dudes. Like, evasion should look AWESOME. It should actually be blurry, and lik ghost movements of me dodging when it works. Secret technique, should be like zed style shadow clones from league of legends. Shadow strike shod have some variations other than just Re-appearing from The same top right spot and slicing down. Maybe outlaw doesnt have shadow step, but grabs and kicks off of a target to use death from above to another target. What if instead of cheap shot, assination could hold a target in place (like with a knife to the throat) and any damage they would take, my hostage takes. Like there so much creative potential thats never explored T.T
It will be interesting to see how it pans out. If memory serves, shaman, warlock, and disc preist were all kind of the support classes way back when. Warlock comes to mind i think even by blizzās admission they they were jist supposed to make the group better, (pr rather your enemies weaker) but people found it was less fun just propping others up. So they made every one more impactful to their intended roll
Probably Evoker⦠people wanted a tanking spec and got a support in a dps slot.
Also, according to every comments section on wowhead, apparently hunters need massive buffs and reworks.
