What class is best for soloing instance content?

Druid, Paladin, BM Hunter are all very good in my experience.

There are very few things I cannot solo but hunters don’t quite nuke spam like a mage does and we can only cheetah for so long.

Would anyone recommend stopping at 115 to still be able to use the legion legendaries or would 120 with 445 gear be better?

Rogues are heavily gear and weapon dependent.

DK, blood spec, not so much. In blood, you can get a lot further, faster and not die.

If you have heirlooms, you can use them til BfA. Once in BfA and you get your chest, head and shoulders, you can swap them out to heirlooms when turning in quests.

That extra experience adds up fast. Til BfA, you don’t need to replace your gear if you’re using heirlooms maxed out to 120. Can max neck out to 110.

The Legion legendaries are not as good as your heirloom weapons. They took the buffs off of them.

I use my BM Hunter who is a engineer. I have both Jeeves to sell things inside an instant and Molly the portable mail box to send things out of an instant so I never have to worry about filled bags and have to exit an instant early to sell stuff on my vendor mount. Bear tartar is also a nice little speed boost. Barrage is a great Aoe to take down large trash mobs. I also have camouflage if I want to sneak by mobs I don’t want to waste time killing. I feel all these factors make for a great farming class.

yeah but see, arcane explosion hits everthing in front, beside and in back, at the same time, in a circle. has no cd. is insta cast and is good on mana. also travel time shortened by teleports. invis passed mobs ya dont want to mess with. talented sprint. double blink. free food/water. mirror selves to pull aggro. heroism type spell. i have run old content for years, and nothing has beaten mage for ease

Depends how far you are going. The scaling is terrible in this game currently. 115 damage vs 120 damage on a 90 boss is significantly different even though both should insta-one-shot it. Up to you, but 120’s are always going to do the job quicker because of it.

For Legion stuff, I’d highly recommend to be at least 440 or higher to not have to struggle. At least the things that ARE soloable, not everything is yet.

DH.
Strong survivability, damage, and mobility.

The reason I ask was because on my rogue I was able to one shot a TON of stuff with fan of knives using the legion cloak+talent that increases its dmg. lol

Arcane mage. Nothing beats it. Not even druid kitty.

Go Havoc DH, They have the best soloing setup in the game.

Never understood the mobility thing. You can buy swiftness potions off the ah for a few gold a pop and they give you 50% for 15 seconds. Any class is a solo class. Just play what you actually find fun.

You can also get some from the garrison.

That’s basically bear feces now
since they nerfed it at the prepatch
but thankfully they might be adding another one in Shadowlands.

For old raids/dungeons:
If you cannot mount in the dungeon/raid, I lean towards druid for the movement consistent speed - or any other class to let me run through the dungeon quickly.

If you can mount, then really doesn’t matter. Play whatever you want.

World quest: - definitely druid.
Being able to stay in travel form to complete quest objectives while other people must dismount is a big big bonus - take wild charge so you can jump in your travel form too. You can stealth to avoid things you don’t want to waste time killing. And if you are alliance, Shadowmeld is great for saving time when you have finished your objective and just want to go.

Hunter

Trail blazer 30% movement speed increase, plus pet tanks

If you go engineering you can put nitro boosts on your belt as well

Swipe hits everything in a circle around you, costs no resources, has no CD, is instant cast

I say fury warrior. Spamming whirlwind gets rid of most packs and you can add pretty much any transmog weapon appearance that drops for you.

DH felt great.
Great mobility and self sustainability as havoc.

But I guess it depends what you’re going for.
If you aren’t doing previous expansion mythic content, and want to prioritize speed, I would choose a druid and build a speed set.
