What class has the best survivability?

I play a mage and I can’t solo some of the critters my quests take me to solo. Then I saw a Druid cruise through a monster I could only get down to half health. That makes me think some classes outshine others in fighting long duration battles! Which class would you recommend that has the best chance for soloing a boss monster?

Blood DKs come to mind, and Druids are pretty top tier for survivability

At the current state of the game.

DK, Druid, Paladin, Warlock

BM Hunter with a tanky pet is also great.

If you are a sadist you could level a Disc Priest. You won’t die but it takes a long time to kill stuff.

Rogue, though for a different reason than the others mentioned.
If there’s more than one guy you can shut down the others to take them one at a time, against one you can pause the fight & heal, and if all else fails you Vanish.

DH.
You have self healing and damage.

While leveling, I’d say Hunter is best at survival. You don’t even have to worry about healing yourself if you’re Beastmaster. Your pet is going to take the damage. You heal them instead.

And worst case scenario, if you mess something up, you just feign death, regroup, and start over.

Now, if you go Night Elf Hunter, you have an additional do-over with Shadowmeld, which will hide you from enemy instantly and drop all aggro.

Rogue is nice. A utility belt like Batman’s, you can control the fight forever and get out alive. Although druids aren’t exactly squishy.

Mind control + talent you can make mobs your pets , heals + shields make you kinda a tank and talents that increase DMG <3

The best while leveling would be Warlock/BM/DK/Paladin , druid with resto/guardian affinity or on those specs, rogue is not bad at all with constant stuns and healing potion.
How to do it with warlock? Take out your voidlord/voidwalker and it will take damage for you, also remember to use your drain life thing, it heals you.

Any hybrid class really.

I’d say blood dk takes the cake here, could probably pull just about everything in the zone and still come out with full health

Pretty much any of the tank classes.

And if he’s dead set on staying a mage, best to level as Frost. A lot more control with its freezes, can use his pet, take his shield, etc.

Early mage is super squishy compared to most other classes.

Outside of tanks I would argue Havoc Demon Hunter is the most survivable. You have one of the best short cd defensives in the game (Blur), passive healing for days with leech and soul fragments, talented single target stun, baseline slow, baseline aoe stun, and amazing mobility. Other classes, like Rogue, have survivability in their amazing defensives (Evasion/Riposte and Cloak of Shadows), and a 30% heal on a 30 second cd. You can certainly survive a lot as a rogue, but it requires far more effort than the facerolling nature of Havoc

BM monk or Druid. I play balance. Dont die to much.
Ive held my own against a lot with Resto shaman too.

Except enhancement shaman.

Druids. Always Druids.

Any class but Mage.

Mages have no heals and are renowned for being squishy.

You have to become mobile, using your full toolkit to survive some seemingly basic encounters.

I would practice often on my Mage pulling several mobs, locking them down, nuking them and moving on. It was fun, challenging and my Mage game improved immensely.

Good luck!

lol this is so true. Mage is basically playing wow at it’s highest difficulty setting. Even shaman gets more get out of jail free cards.

That is pretty much exactly my leveling strategy each new xpac. Honestly, you have to fall asleep at the keyboard to die as Blood DK.

Such a disappointing thing to say - and 100% accurate.
