(first post for me)
So respectfully I am asking this question. My wife has decided to play along with me, which is amazing and I couldn’t be happier. Now she has literally NEVER moved a mouse in a game, and well, never played an MMO. But after she saw Pandaren and Vulpera females in game she fell in love (I know I know).
As she has no experience with any gaming ever, what do you guys recommend for her starting out and learning the game as far as classes? I can tell you now she will only play one class for a LONG time, it’s just her personality… so I only want to have her play and focus on one spec. and this choice is CRITICAL for her to get into the game and hopefully love it. It MUST be easy to learn and be good at and be enjoyable. I only have this toon as well so I haven’t experienced anything else, which is why I am asking.
Thank you all.

Hunter 100%. Probably the most enjoyable for casual players as well because it’s very easy to solo content as well as having fun things to do that other classes can’t, such as finding & taming rare pets.

I would say hunter or mage. Mage is honestly super easy to play at a basic level.

Demon Hunter. You have like three buttons.

Very few buttons, but for someone who doesn’t have experience using a mouse/keyboard and playing MMO’s it’s probably not a good idea to pick a class that relies heavily on being very mobile and jumping around like a madman.

Hunter - Beast Master spec most likely. I am biased, it is my favorite class but it is easy to play, and easy to play solo or with groups.

We sacrificed everything…including complicated rotations.
But to op…DH or hunter. BM hunter. Its very forgiving as the pet takes the beatings as new players learn. Just keep the heals up on them is all. And once levelled up you get 2. the pet mend and exhilaration.
Prot paladin I’d have as a dead easy class as well. Until end game and hasted up its literally press whatever button you can actually press. To me prot paladin is about as simple as simple can be really.
It can have 6 casts, sure. when 5 of them are on CD its not complicated. Hit the non CD one lol.

Hunter (Especially BM) is the absolute easiest to play and get the hang of and the easiest to solo even now. BM has a very simple rotation and eventually the KI finisher is very easy to get the hang of and learn how to use and moreso with its first row talent. I haven’t died on my hunters yet because my feline pets do the work while I hang back shooting thanks to their growl, healing them when I could, and I fell in love with how easy it was to just solo through. (When in doubt, get you a ferocity pet as early as you can on new characters, that Leech is good shiz).
Your wife can be a skilled huntress with an animal partner and bring down a rain of CROWS on your enemies if she takes the talent if going full on “The Birds” on them sounds fun.
Very basic and simple, some say boring, but to be fair I always considered Hunters one of the better “newb” classes because it’s very easy to get used to working with it and its BM spec.

Efficient farmer too.
Pet takes the mobs while you pick your flowers and rocks. Help the pet out when done. Saves a few seconds there. It adds up over many flower pickings though lol.

Hunter, especially BM. It’s honestly the closest thing to a foolproof class. You almost have to try to fail to actually fail.

I also say hunter with the added benefit of her getting to pick her pet(s).
Look up petopia and you can see all of the various options and all the color variants and where to get them. As BM, while also having the advantage of being incredible easy and high DPS to boot, also can use all the pets (some are limited to just BM hunters).

Either hunter BM or MM. do not try Surv.
Or the demon hunter. Both easy af. You can play it on an iPhone.

I say just let her pick what she wants to play. Sure you can guide her and such, but let her work her way through the character creation screen.
