So I am getting ready to ding my 3rd 60 in Classic, which is my Beartank. Warden Staff finally came down enough in price for me to afford one. My question to you is which chant should I put on it? My area of expertise in Classic is Pallytanking, and this will be my first Druid ever to hit level cap.
I’m thinking +25 AGI for crit, armor, and dodge, but am unsure how other chants, like Crusader, work with Bears. Is +25 AGI the best choice for a Bear, or would you recommend something else?
I don’t play Classic but I played Vanilla and IIRC +Agi enchant is the winner. Druid forms can’t use procs like Crusader so stats pretty much always win.
Frick…I can’t remember his name, but some guy wrote a ‘treatise on druid tanking’ for classic, and it’s basically the bible for it. I imagine it answers that specific question, as it covers just about every other fricking thing that has to do with bear tanking.

You don’t ever actually “use” the weapon for hitting enemies, so you can never get procs to occur. This negates most of the traditional endgame tank enchants like crusader. Druid is the class of weird stuff like this, like Warden Staff being BIS until BC.
You want agi.
As much agi as possible. It is literally just a stat stick.
Taladril’s is great, of course, but Alamo’s will always stand out to me.

I’m pretty sure Alamo wrote the book on Beartanking back in retail vanilla. Didn’t even think about looking him up. Thanks for jogging my memory!
