1) Implement a player voting system where players have 75% of a majority to shut down changes we didn’t ask for that are forced on us by Devs. Players are more than smart enough to give honest opinions and point out a massive advantage/disadvantage
2) Bring back the old talent trees and allow players to choose whatever talents and combinations they’d like and bake the new talents into those trees or make class identity abilities baseline
3) Restore a proper balancing system where all classes and specs are mandatory for raiding and PVP.
4)Put restrictions on class stacking and please I don’t want to hear it’s difficult because it truly isn’t it’s called math.
5) Make professions important again. These borrowed power systems have made professions useless for a long time now.
Roll the game back to MOP when class design was actually good, class fantasy was amazing and we had awesome talent trees, and a good balance of end game things to do, dailies, farm, Raiding that actually had good loot drops and valor for weeks you dont get loot and an actual stop point for the week no feeling you ned to keep grinding for anything.
When a patch comes out, all I care about is getting gear to clear aotc and ksm. So, make heroic raid and mythic 12(?) ilvl gear more plentiful.
Then I like to move onto alts and chase transmogs for the current patch and do pvp. Make everything a main has accomplished account wide. I dont want alts, I want many mains with regards to reputations, borrowed power, etc. I dont mind going for gear on alts. The rest of it, just give to me.
Lastly, I want ‘bring the player, not the class’ back. Bring back scrolls and buff drums.
Dont lock us up on 1 spec with sacrifices to our power. I want to play all 4 specs of my druid and feel as powerful as I can. (I know, NF bis for all 4 but you get my point.
Dont cap any progression. I guess I didnt mind covenant stuff releasing over time but not being able to grind soul ash like we can conquest really makes me angry at this game. Its 100 percent this way to piss us off.
Many of the suggestions in this thread are regressive (go back to how it was), overly selfish (do something that benefits me, usually at the expense of others), overly broad (just fix everything), or go contrary to the stated goals of the expansion, which is still a work in progress (like “get rid of the maw” or “let me bounce back and forth between covenants” and such).
I’m trying to avoid saying “most of these suggestions are stupid”, so I’ll just say that most people don’t seem to understand the complexity involved in keeping everything balanced.
Maybe we’ll see some QoL changes in the near future, before 9.1, that will be a bone thrown to people, but I kinda doubt it. In the meantime, I’m going to continue to play the game that I enjoy.
Covenant spells are a talent row.
M+ just as good as raid + pvp for gearing if you’re doing hard enough content.
More drops from dungeons to round out the missing pieces.
A vendor to buy base-level M+ pieces for lots of valor for if you really really can’t get it to drop.
Go back to shorter world quests or double the rewards for every world quest.
Maw content is weekly but there is more of it, the eye is also weekly.
Another change I’d make is implement a system like the Novice Network that FF14 has which has perks of transmogs, pets to if you mentor a certain amount of new players/classes (since a fair amount is people trying new classes) a mentor only mount. I recently started playing FF14 and by god the community is night and day compared to Wow. People will actually come over and be like “Hey are you new? I can mentor you” And it’s a million times more tuned to you as a player. I know they just added the Exile’s reach n all but having a player give you an indepth rundown and watching over you as you pluck around is so much more fun imo. And straight up? I’d like to believe wow isn’t as toxic as it comes off to new people.
Another thing we desperately need is old in retail dungeons mainly used to mount farm to be altered. It’s such a damn chore to do Deathwing go through 40+ of rp just to be thrown from his damn back because I was a millisecond too slow strafing not to mention on some classes it’s twice as long.
Make obtaining gear and gear related currencies dynamic and flexible. Raid loggers gonna raid log, all they’ve done here is step on the necks of non raid loggers, what are they trying to accomplish? Looks like a convoluted scam to sell more tokens by supporting paid carries to me, but it could just be comical incompetence. Either way, they aren’t earning their asking price.
I kind of miss when the level of mobs didn’t scale with the player.
I do like that there is an official order to the zones for story purposes since WoD and beyond really lacked an overall story that connected the zones.
I’d also like it if they story had us help all 4 covenants instead of “joining” one which would open up their abilities and transmogs.
Personally, I would like more quick world quests. Add in “rares” to the daily rotation. Add World Quests to “The Maw” not just two dailies. I’d spend more time online if they existed. Now there is no point after I finish my daily calling.
After many changes to the game over the last decade, this post consists of my ingame social network. I still enjoy the game but don’t have a network to enjoy endgame with.
