Casuals don’t want mythic stuff, raids, or A hardmode where you have to stress yourself and those around you when you die.
Casuals want is an Elite Open World Affix Challenge Mode, so they don’t need to grind M+ dungeons closed off to the rest of the world to get gear. This is A fact.
Casuals both want to challenge themselves and work towards betterment of their character and skills and focus. Without the risk of ruining other people’s “fun” in M+ raid etc.
Casuals want to group with friends and/or que for LFG for random quests in the open world that are super hard but will give everyone a cool reward or something. Be assigned to do some crazy heist where they have to shoot a massive cannon but the mobs are OP. Where you can die but focus on getting better or doing things differently instead of incoming toxic hate for slowing everyone down.
Casuals want space to hone and express the skills they have not be timer tested time and time again for gear. Casuals want a space where if you die at least you weakened/killed some NPCs before you died and you can rez and try again.
Casuals don’t want to worry about what Spec has the most DPS. Casuals want to be able to play the “weakest” of specs and still achieve their goal, because it’s about learning how to navigate Azeroth with the abilities they have at their disposal.
Casuals basically want really hard quests that can be a struggle perhaps even moreso than mythic+ sometimes, maybe the mobs have some class abilities so they can recognize them later if they don’t already and how their class should react to it.
I’ve been a casual for the last 9 years of playing. I just do premade groups for PvP and experience the raid just to have fun in LFR. Everything is fin right now.
I agree 100% with this post, but I feel I need to make a clarification:
I do not want “hard” “challenging” content to be basically open world Mage Tower. I genuinely did not find it fun. At all. (i know the minority). Bashing my head against a wall for X amount of wipes till something comes down is nothing different than raiding or doing M+, but solo.
I’m a casual and I don’t want that. I want more activities like a “torghast” that only offers cosmetic rewards and is designed to be just fun, I want a tower defense mode, horde mode and more.
You don’t speak for casuals you speak for yourself same as I only speak for myself.
