is there anything worthwhile from holiday events in classic? thanks
The pure satisfaction in doing the event?
I don’t remember there being much in the early days. I think rescuing Metzen has been around forever.
Heck, the first few years I had no idea who Metzen even was.
Now, he’s my hero.
You get some toys and such. Nothing particularly useful end-game.
Some of the quests may give you consumables far, far above your level. In the beta, I got a 3 charge summonable pet from the midsummer festival. It was level 58 and I am level 40. Solo’d SFK with it.
There weren’t as many. They gave xp, food, booze.
I’m pretty sure the two winter helpers, the reindeer and the snowman pets were there in Vanilla. The fruitcake, roast, cookie and eggnog were there as well. Also, the winter themed recipes for each profession were there, I think.
I went and looked - these were all added before 1.12 in Vanilla
The only “useful” holiday recipe I know of would be the +frost damage weapon enchant. Better than +int, and cheaper too, so a nice stopgap before getting +30 spell damage.
Dresses from the Lunar Festival. Elf pets from Winter Veil.
I think the red and green outfits were there.
It was a bear getting the green outfit for an alliance tailor. I’m sure the same for Horde getting the red outfit.
Happiness and holiday spirit.
