What Brings?

What do WW bring to a dungeon group or raids? Really struggling with decision. My WW or DH or my shaman. I enjoy WW monk more but I don’t see our utilities. Pve not pvp

Pve nothing really, PvP is where monks shine.

Not a lot of utility brought to PvE groups. Raids you get the class buff. Dungeons you do great AoE but like my Feral, fall behind on sustained single target

In raids, a melee dps buff but can also be provided by a BRM or MW. In mythic+, nice burst aoe with a large ramp. Maybe serenity plus TOD execution adds some ST burst dps that might warrant a WW over other melee dps.

Which is why I mentioned class debuff and “sustained”

Yeah I didn’t read yours first. With that I agree with you.

Windwalker is a priority damage spec. Short cooldowns, functional on ST or AoE, and on a charge system. Its the type of spec that should be able to use a DPS cooldown for most raid events (add spawns, kill x target and burst y, kill x before it reaches its destination, etc) without not needing to hold damage while also being able to help push phases with Bloodlust, or whatever your raid leader wants/needs.

Though because of this you’ll often find some wack damage profiles tier to tier.

As for what they bring outside of the way they’re developed it’s mainly Provoke/ToK, Ring of Peace, AoE stun. Nothing fancy.

Found another person that doesn’t know how to play the monk class. Monks with touch of death in dungeons are amazing. Plus using night fae faeline stomp, tiger lightning, and spinning crane kick, plus storm earth and fire together puts out massive dps. In group mobs in normal dungeons today I was able to reach max dps on a group mob at 6.1k (with touch of death) into the mix. Ivl 145 gear If you all need pointers or something let me know. I will gladly help.

Don’t take this wrong, it’s not me being rude, but it is me being blunt.

You blew all your big boy cool downs…in an AoE setting…on a pack of trash mobs.

That doesn’t show or prove anything. I mean good job capitalizing on a burst window. But he’s not asking about numbers or rotations.

He’s asking about desirability and usefulness. And one thing we’ve all agreed on are good burst, and good AoE, which you demonstrated.

But can you sustain that or even go back to back with a 30 second delay between pulls?

Your asking for a nerf brother

Not sure who you’re referring to here but lots of classes can mongo a trash pull and blow up dps. A good balance druid can do what you did but on unlimited targets and make your numbers look pretty silly.

To the OP: TOD has its place, its great at killing priority or intermission adds (like the guessing game in tirna), great mobility for fights like the orbs in atonement last boss). They’re steady dps with huge burst on 1-6 mobs, and they’re self-sufficient which is nice for healers.
