What breaks your immersion?

Hah hah hah! That’s epic

No you’re not

I honestly miss the days that this was enforced on Emerald Dream…

Voice and generally other player’s actions .

A frog mount that can’t swim fast.

My ground mount getting stuck on a twig, root, or small rock.

My boat mount that sinks in water.

Mounts.

98% of them.

Not being able to skin races that should be skinnable.

Seeing a group of multi-boxers running around doing the same thing at the same time.

Not ever crafting any materials like poisons, or buying them. A class that knows about poisons, but doesn’t use them for 2/3 of their specs.

Never having to feed my pet, or buy ammo.

Shaman totems being a rarity, when it was one of the things that felt like a big part of the class. Feels weird to see a shaman and almost never any totems.

Gonna use one you said not to, BECAUSE I CAN. Flying mounts that can fly, but not in x area for no particular reason. Especially not a reason you can feel, or physically see.

NPCs sizings being all over the place, larger, smaller, regular size; especially as raid bosses. Though I already know the reason as to why they do this, it does break my immersion. I do believe it’s one of the few that have a good reason as to not do it that I can get behind.

Casting a spell, or a mount only to have nothing happen.

In-game weather, and night/day cycles being different between zones and areas. In-game weather is just pretty rare to see, and you almost never hear noises related to weather outside of the rain.

Sharding/CRZ, even more in BFA with warmode shards being a thing. I never see familiar faces and friends anymore.

Meme zones, like what redridge mountains has become. Huge questline just a big, out of place movie reference.

Having no out in the world tasks related to specifically my class, or my race.

Seeing multiple warchiefs in the same room.

Having an enemy cast a random spell that makes me unable to act, even though they’re weak enough my character can take them on… and doing nothing to break out of it except waiting.

Gigantic mounts everywhere, and no mount animations on HOW they even get up on that mount.

Seeing everybody with a specialty weapon like ashbringer, and yet the lore also doesn’t even reflect us having that weapon but someone else we never see with it.

Toys that make people huge and covering up tons of stuff to be annoying. In general people doing stuff they know annoy others on purpose.,

The music in Zandalar cuts out to a different track too quickly! I love the music there, but hopping from the Great Seal down to the lower levels I go through 3 or 4 different tracks. Soundtracks and sound effects are very important for my immersion and it feels like someone’s scrolling through radio stations as I run around.

Having to stop and do math or search on the internet for information cause the quest hasn’t given enough information or assumes you know everything there is to know.
Getting told I need third party apps to play a game.

Not being able to fly on my flying mounts or no inexplicable reason every expac. I know you said you didn’t want to hear it, but that’s pretty much the biggest immersion breaker for me.

Semper Fi! :us:

That stupid sea stalk that has been stuck under a rock since day 1 in Drustvar. Could we move that by 8.2 please??

One of the reasons why I am looking forward to Classic. That bit of micromanaging might seem tedious for players who hate having to carry around arrows or shards or whatever, but I find it adds a bit of depth to the game.

Herb and mine nodes you can’t get to, even in new areas like BFA.

The most glaring ones are the ones in Zangermarsh (was that the name?) Which I reported several times, starting in the beta for Burning Crusade; You still can’t get to them.

I don’t mean can’t get “UP”, or “DOWN” to them but rather that they are under a rock or stuff.

Nothing. I get no “immersion” from this game. It’s just a video game to me. I’m not really Troll Druid. I’m human, and druidism is a medieval pagan Celtic religion.

There is no Alliance. No Horde. No such place as Azeroth.

Trust me, you’ll enjoy it more when you’re not trying to make yourself stupider just to believe something that’s very apparently a work of fiction.

Dying, getting up and carrying on.

It feels wrong to die then just res and try again until I succeed. So I tend to play a little below my character’s potential just for the sake of immersion in the world.

But you picked the perfect character name for that
