What breaks your immersion?

Oh lol.

I’m so stupid :stuck_out_tongue:

I think for me… its the fact that the world is always even. The game always has everything split down the middle. I’m not talking about faction balance… cuz we all know theres 100% more horde out there lol. I’m talking about X amount of cities per faction, nobody wins this war–this week we’ve won auberdine back–but next week…all our hard work just dosent exist. I’d like to see more actual capturing and conquring. Like… maybe the alliance can push as far as they can in X time and the horde have to start from where we made it to. So a longer more war driven experience rather than … an overly easy pvE experience. idk?

My bunny hop.

I’m a :crossed_swords: , not a :rabbit:

the presence of a user interface.

immersion isn’t a thing.

needing to repeat raids and dungeons dozens of times for better gear and not being able to make it as a leatherworker. That breaks my immersion…repeating content.

My immersion is broken when I do a whole interesting quest line about an allied race and their region then suddenly when I finish up and we are best friends then suddenly they say “hey can you kill this insert rare spawn here and collect insert reoccurring fetch quest here”… multipled by 30 days in a row so that we can actually be best friends now haha!

Bugs on mounts, especially shop mounts, that are never fixed.

I’ll never forget how a character of mine was sent to a new questgiver, who looked him over, gave him a “I guess you’ll have to do” speech during which he referred to the character as a “puny-armed Tauren”.

I was like, what?

Don’t come to goldshire when you have crz with moonguard

While I didn’t mind the challenge it probably wouldn’t be so well received now if inconveniences were put back in,look how people gripe about pathfinder, rep grinds and leveling “taking too long.” :-/ Seems despite wanting features to slow down gameplay, the playerbase somehow now wants to zerg all the things

Boosting a character. I realized that I grow an attachment to my characters as I level them and when I boost a new character I just get bored of it quickly.

I kinda hate that when I’m fighting trash mobs anywhere their buddies right next to them ignore their buddy being killed until I attack them too.

I understand aggro in a game you can’t aggro every mob that can see you cuz it’d be ridiculous, but standing right next to each other?

I get mounts not being able to fly with every expansion… But the fact that the flying ones can’t atleast “hover” over water drives me nuts :expressionless:

In general chat on moon guard having constant “introductions” of their many “furrsonas”

When I have to repeat the same kill quest because I didn’t get credit for it for no apparent reason. Basically all the inane bugs in BFA are immersion-killing b/c you start to see it as faulty programming rather than an enjoyable experience.

Not this game, but my all time favorite is…

Everquest1 - A Snake kicks you for 10. A Snake kicks you for 8. Loading, please wait…

How most every pickable flower in the world is under heavy guard.

To be fair… wow has snakes that can kick you now too xD

The way flying is being and was handled for new expacs. With either model I think it is ridiculous that my mounts and I forget how to fly. I like Pathfinder but the mechanic is flawed. Flying should be extremely dangerous to the point of almost impossible but not downright impossible until you have Pathfinder.

Want to mount up and take to the skies in some strange land?? Go for it, knock yourself out! (literally out… of the sky). Since you are unfamiliar with the weather, terrain, aerial and ground threats you have a extremely high probability moment to moment to be dismounted and plunge headfirst to a gruesome death. The result is the same, you can’t fly until you’ve jumped through Blizz’s hoops however this is far more immersive.

The same could apply to the bought with gold model if they ever were to go back to that. What you’re purchasing with gold is not the ability to fly (which you already had). You’re buying the knowledge, the training, the maps, the talismans that will let you fly without the constant fear of a sudden death.
