My guess is that Quel’thalas will be greatly expanded. The Ghostlands will be significantly different and probably a subzone of Eversong. Zul’Aman will become a full fledged zone. Sunwell Isle will be far larger than it was. Western and Eastern Plaguelands will be combined into one zone, also made larger, and no longer referred to as Plaguelands. Stratholme isn’t on fire anymore after all these years.
Have Stratholme be rebuilt into a thriving city once more.
But then, there’s an outbreak of void magic that causes the citizens to get infected and spread the corruption to other living beings.
The entire city must be purged! Again!
What I hope we could get for Zul’aman and the Forest Trolls :
For Blood Elves, I don’t know because I like the actual area for them.
I vaguely remember something like they would be making the zones bigger, i can’t remember if it heard from a legit source or not
This would actually be cool if they made the Plaguelands into one big zone.
Amani Lands beyond the Gate, Northern Lordaeron Near Quel’thalas and Stratholme, Borderlands of Quel’thalas and Eastern Plaguelands, and more more they could add in Quel’thalas land in the Open Eastern Kingdoms.
On the subject of consolidation, hanging around the anniversary event has made me yearn for “The Great Kalimdor Desert.” Merge Tanaris, Uldum and Silithus into one massive super-zone with Un’goro carved out from the middle.
They could do so much cool stuff if they fundamentally revisited to geography of the old world without being constrained by the need for every zone to be sectioned off by mountains into a roughly equally-sized square.
My theory was with them giving Gilneas back to the Gilneans, and the Undead cleansing Lordaeron, that those two zones might get revamped for Midnight.
I could see them making Silvermoon and Quel’thalas a big city filled with void monsters similar to how Suramar was in Legion but with demons. And the two player hubs for the expansion are Gilneas and Lordaeron City after being properly revamped.
If they’re going to be doing player housing right then they need to update the cities for the main races. Exodar, Silvermoon, Gnomeregan, Lordaeron, and Gilneas all need to be proper updated cities so people can make their houses in them.
I want my Amani only that is all I care about.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Sunwell Plateau 2.0 turns out to be the end-raid of this expansion somehow.
Albeit I wouldn’t entirely be shocked if it wasn’t either
However it’d act as a good tie-in.

Hell even keeping it separate zones it could work, no? I know Quel’thalas gets away with it because it’s in a separate worldspace but its two zones are only separated by the Elrendar river - iirc Duskwood and Elwynn are also only split by a river? Ditto Durotar and North Barrens now that I think of it
That said megazones could be interesting (or horrible if it’s as bad as classic Barrens chat) for the social aspect

Elwynn and Westfall along with Westfall and Duskwood are other examples of being zones that are split by rivers for the most part.
Also got Wetlands and Arathi Highlands in that regard as well. Western and Eastern Plaguelands are split by a river too. Ashenvale and Azshara are also another example.
What other zones are predominately split by a river or other forms of water and have ease of access from the ground. (i.e. no need for flying mounts / flight paths. So Jade forest → Kun-lai is excluded as you need to fly up to reach Kun-lai from Jade Forest directly). If the gap has a bridge or you can simply swim directly across the body of water then it counts.
Drustvar and Tiragarde sound if we look at Kul Tiras.
Borean Tundra with Dragonblight. Dragonblight with grizzly hills.
Jade forest with both Valley of the Four Winds and Krasarang Wilds
Zuldazar with Nazmir.
Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isle.

For expansion zones I would have excluded on the same basis as Eversong-Ghostlands (as expansion zones they are in their own worldspace) but that is fair.
You’re right though, I sort of forget Kul Tiras is easy to go around on foot because the fedexes being by boat do not give a ton of time to notice it.
