What are your quarantine recipes?

What has everyone been cooking for lunch during The Isolation? I’m about to put in a grocery order and I need some idea.

I have dinners covered as we get Blue Apron and I usually have a creative idea of something I’ve been wanting to try for days when we don’t have it. But I’m kinda at a loss for lunch. So what are you having for lunch today?

One of these days I’m going to make an entire pizza from scratch… Minus the pepperoni.

Otherwise its going to be the standard fare.

I’m going to start simmering some Japanese chicken curry in a few minutes… but that’s a little dinner-y, isn’t it? =P

No, this is a killer idea! I’ll grab some cubes and rice from the store. What meat/veggies do you add?

I’ve got chicken thighs, potatoes, carrots, and onions so that’s what I’m using! That’s the simple way… but you could always add something interesting like canned pineapple in juice.

This is one of my dinner goals this week. Adam Ragusea has a great recipe for cast iron pizza I wanna tackle. Highly recommend it, it’s on youtube.

im getting beer and vodka tomorrow, and snacky type stuff in bulk from a restaurant supply store.

as foir recipes, one of the things im looking into making is the suasage n cabbage soup in the instant pot. love this stuff and easy. cut up some onions, celery and carrots… basically any veggies you like. sautee in the IP till onions look translucent. cut up some kilbasa, throw that in and sautee a few minutes. then add broth of your choice, better than bullion chicken or garlic base is good. then throw in cut up cabbage. i add about a tablespoon or so of cajun seasoning, pressure cook for 8 minutes. and done! if you have bacon bits, throw that in too with the sausage to really kick it up!

measurements are up to the size of your IP, i have the 8qt, so the cajun you may need to cut back if you have one smaller. and i basically add the broth till it reaches the max line. and everything can be changed to fit your tastes.

I bought a massive bag of meatballs and a few big bottles of marinara from restaurant depot. Froze it in dinner size portions. Can make subs or pasta with it.

THinking Sesame or Kung Pao chicken and maybe a noodle dish like Lo Mein or Pad Thai

I recommend any dish that doesn’t require toilet paper. That seems to be a very popular ingredient right now.

If you work at a Chinese restaurant, might I ask for a good brown-sauce recipe? Something I can keep in the fridge for stir frying chicken and broccoli maybe.

Made drool, why you!!

st pattys day got me making some corned beef brisket and baby carrots for dinner tonight along with some of that calrose. you know us hawaii peeps love our rice.

Mostly fruit smoothies consisting of Bananas, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, and apples with vegan protein powder “vegetarian though” got rice, frozen vegetables, curries and hot salsas when the fresh produce runs out (if it does!)

Try a soy based sauce with maybe a chicken base and sugar . I recommend using hot water to disolve the chick base and sugar and maybe ad a rice wine or rice wine vinegar to it.

Do you use cornstarch?

Not in the sauce it self but if you want to thicken it when heating it up then yes.
