Here’s my list:
Maldraxxus. That place is depressing and disgusting at the same time.
Ghostlands. Very depressing.
Eversong Woods. The scenery is nice, but I didn’t like the layout of the zone and the sad violin playing over and over again.
Hellfire Peninsula. It was like playing on the surface of Mars.
Bastion. I didn’t like the color palette.
Revendeth. IMO, it tried too hard to be spooky and felt the theme could’ve been used in another expansion a long time ago that was more edgier (i.e. Wrath).
Borean Tundra. The scenery is nice, but I have a feeling that the Devs intentionally tried to make it “Boring Tundra”, which they probably admitted with the achievement that has that name.
BC era Shadowmoon Valley. Absolutely depressing with nothing but green dirt and sky.
Deepholm. Nothing but stone.
Nazjatar. It’s kinda like Vashj’ir but not underwater, very hard to navigate.

Hellfire is the worst zone ive ever played through. I hated every second of it.

Most of the old large zones.
All baren, empty.

The Maw.
Monochromatic bleakness that was miserable to navigate and (at the time) felt like everything had 4x the health it needed.

CATA Redridge, they laid it on a bit too thick with the constant references.

I think I’ve learned that I hate most zones that feature the following: fel, void, or any other variation of destruction and desolation. There’s just something unmotivating and bleak about navigating and experiencing a place that’s mired in death and destruction.

Most void-related zones. The color palette, the tentacles with eyes and mouths, it’s just a bit much and it gets tiring to look at after a while.

All of Outland

Plaguelands
-
Badlands
-
Argus
-
Fel-corrupted areas of the Broken Shore

Maldraxxus

Revendreth

All of the zones that were destroyed by the cataclysm, but still have not been repaired over a decade later.

Bastion. A thousand times, Bastion. The story is, for me, the most depressing and upsetting in the entire game. Also it’s way, way, way too bright. Not saying I want super dark all the time, but I can seriously only play in Bastion for about a half hour at a time before I start to get a headache from it.
Also of note: Revendreth before flying because it is godawful to get around in. And any primarily underwater zone because even as a warlock main with my buff and underwater mounts, it’s just incredibly annoying.
ETA: Apparently I also hate the Maw so much I completely blocked it from my mind. Very, very much hate the Maw.

What are your least favorite Zones in WoW?
The one that drove me away from the game for a while was in Panda Land. I believe it was the Krasarang Wilds. Every quest was along the lines “Please help me adventurer, my sheep have escaped and I need you to round them up”.
In fact when I first saw the Onion farmer in VLDL (Viva La Dirt League) I was sure their parody was based on that zone.

Sounds like Valley of the Four Winds, tbh. Or maybe Kun Lai Summit.
…yeah, there was a lot of crap like that in MoP. lol

Felwood - Boring straight path.
Outland SMV - Needs more going on. Feels unfinished.
Gorgrond - Annoying music and I’ve leveled there too many times.
Val’sharah - More disappointing than bad. Too theme parked and cramped.
All SL zones except Ardenweald (including the Maw, Korthia, and Zereth Mortis) - Don’t feel like WoW. Especially looking back.
Ohn’ahran Plains - Bad music and quite boring everything.

Any large zones with nothingness but sand, or sandy soil or parched earth mostly because there’s more than one. Red, brown, beige. don’t care. Some of those were improved with Cata (Badlands and Desolace) but added Uldum (which has parts I like but including it to make a point). Not even stabbing Silithus with a giant sword could improve it. Now it’s just… the same with a big sword in it.
But specifically non-sand-related zones (thought I guess it goes with the parched earth theme): The Maw. Obvious is obvious. But it was hell, and it felt like hell. And there’s that part where you toon cries while you run around it.
Maldraxxus. Initially, I could roll with the grossness of it. But I get it, we’re on a corpse. After a week of dailies pulling hairs and popping pustules it gets… significantly less fun.

The Maw, Korthia, Maldraxxus.
Shadow Lands really hit it out of the park with top three ugliest zones. Without even the hokey charm of the worst of classic’s drab offerings (Desolace btw).

Going to have to agree. There was never really any particular zone in WoW that frustrated me too much… until Shadowlands. Bastion with the dizzying brightness, Revendreth for being so stupid hard to navigate before flying. The forums were lit up with Revendreth complaints back then. I remember all the joke threads about what we think the Blizzard announcements would sound like if they actively took away things that made that place easier, like goblin gliders and such. Rough times in WoW.

Maldraxxus - Icky
Dread Wastes - Ewww… bugs!
Frostfire Ridge - We get it. Horde like challenging terrain, but it made no sense to be there.
