Its technically outside of WoW, but I’m in a DnD 5e game set in the WoW universe shortly after Legion.
Our latest shenanigans included teaching my illiterate gnoll shaman to finally read and write at a third grade level and count to 100, as well discovering some secrets of a lost Arathi tribe.
I’m still experiencing the game, but I expect I’ll be breaking into FF14’s community eventually. Spent some time plotting a backstory for my currently miqo’te poacher, but I may change to male viera when the time comes.
…I may or may not have plans to give him the accents and mannerisms of the hares from Redwall.
Been here in Duskwood pretty much every night, we’re finishing up a very Resident Evil styled plot where mold took over people’s brains for a while, and after that I plan on throwing a Halloween party in Raven Hill, might call it something cute like Rave(n) Hill Hallow’s End Bash or something.
That’s absolutely brilliant. Coincidentally, this toon of mine once went to a small party with a couple human pals he knew. They played WoWverse DnD, and they were all murlocs or murloc-related. My toon, for example, was a murloc horse. With high charisma.
Hallow’s End Bash at Rave’s Hill? You could always just jokingly rename it for the event. I did just realize though, arren’t the Legion-level cultists still in the inn there? It might be good to remind people of them, since the mobs are hostile.
Well personally Ive been working on more story for Maurice, dealing with the Holy Hemomancy power I’ve got going on! Even went back to Divinity 2 OS to experiment with the blood magic in that game and getting some good ideas for it as of late but other than that He’s been on sort of a Relic Hunt trying to gather Artifacts as new Archivist Of The Silver Hand and on his spare time find other Hemomancer to train him! I did have to take a break from Year of the Scourge cause work and school got in my way this year trying to get my degree by the end of this year so to Axiann and Beloran I am very sorry for not responding as of late! Promise I’ll make it up somehow! But strong suggest you take part in this event cause its planned you’ll have a lot of fun and its a good time I promise!
As for where I do it… shoot anywhere when I get the time honestly, I usually end up in the Stormwind city on MG or wandering Azeroth open world in WRA when Im not raiding or mythic cause I really wanna see what’s out there in Azeroth to play with! Was thinking about hanging around the Brawlers Guild and coming up with a neat story to have Maurice fighting his way up the ladder to get answers from the leader but since it ain’t open I’ll keep working on the relic quest I suppose!
I’ve considered it, but I find myself too horrifically awkward to participate in larger community-driven events. I’ve RPed with a couple people who do participate however, and I’m glad all involved are having good fun.
I’ve never been super into organized RP, so I’m still RPing with random people I find. It’s harder, though, since I don’t play WoW as much, so I’m attempting to make discord/bnet friends.
“Choose the hard way of doing things and you will forever wonder why you didn’t do things easier, you absolute goof.” - Enekie, The Book of Graves
I’m largely the same. I find walk-ups and whatever comes of it to be more organic. It’s also more of a comfort zone thing for me too. I’m not above (or below, depending on your point of view) joining a guild, but it’s not something I usually do. Same goes for community events.
I just feel like I don’t personally enjoy competing for attention or for feeling like my attention needs to be equally divided. I’d just rather be giving and getting the whole focus.
…though, it occurs to me I also like that individual RP because it means you can do daily quests while you RP, so perhaps I’m just a big liar.
I tend to stick with Chentao the most over the years. I don’t see many Huojin roleplayers so it feels unique in that aspect alone. I’ve also been playing quite a bit of my old Gnome rogue who became a monk in Mists ICly, though I think nostalgia has a lot to do with that. He was my first real RP characters back in WotLK and I really missed the little guy.
The toon I post on is my longest lasting toon from when I started RPing on WoW! I can really get the sentiment about nostalgia playing a role in picking what characters you RP. I find myself returning to this toon more than any others.
Personally, I’m working with a bunch of close friends to carve a little place out for us to do funky storylines and RP, hence the guild. We’ve got a rockin’ good concept that we’re all interested in (murderhobo homies that front as an ice cream shop - keeping murder minty-fresh since 2004), and now we’re just preparing things behind the scenes for the proceeding fun!
It doesn’t fuss us too much whether it’s just us 5 or if more people want to join in on the concept, but we’re pretty excited to start getting into the gristle of it, ngl.
I’m the opposite, I put a version of Teilaiya in every game I play. I love the personality she has, and like finding ways to fit her backstory into the various worlds. So I usually end up bringing her cast of characters over too.
Though my favorite thing right now is the novel I’m writing that includes her as the main character. My biggest fear with that though is when Teilaiya becomes a household name (I fully intend to be a NYC bestselling author someday) and everyone starts reporting my character for copyright infringement (A girl can dream of her character becoming as famous as other fictional characters can’t she?)
Anyway I digress.
Right now she exists as a Sin’dorei rogue/monk in WoW
, a Sith inquisitor in SWTOR,

An agent of the Dark Brotherhood in ESO, or at least she will be, I just started.
A ship captain in Eve,

she’s the warrior of light in FFXIV,
She’s a variation of Carman Sandiago in Guild Wars 2.
she’s a LS tuner and street racer in GTA online, etc.
Oh yeah she is something in CoH too.
All of them are alternate univserse, and all of them are her essence and personality.
If people have the name Legolas and so on, I’m sure you’ll be fine when that day comes. Generally if the character name isn’t NSFW or horribly rude, Blizzard cares little.
My concerns are mostly tongue in cheek, I just think it would be hilarious to have people complain that I’m copying a famous name and be able to prove that I am, in fact, the creator of this character.
That’s fair too. And not entirely misguided, either-- I’ve had that happen to myself with this character, actually!
Someone whispered me, irritated and ready for an argument. I politely informed them I am Maxi with the umlaut, rather than the Maxi with a differently accented ‘a’ they were seeking. I was then promptly accused of name stealing.
