What are you most excited for in Shadowlands and least excited for

Legion was garbage. Pretty zones and music, trash systems left and right including but not limited to -

mob level scaling
mob ilvl scaling
pvp templates
sharding
artifact grind
D3 bounties (sorry “world quests”)
D3 rifts (sorry “mythic+”)
pathfinder (now with 2 parts! yay!)
continual destruction of professions started in WoD
continual heavy use of mission board from WoD, but dumbed down

Almost everything people whine about in BfA is a system that reared its ugly head in Legion (or in some cases WoD). The only reason people think Legion was good is because it had more busywork for them than WoD. If we went directly to Legion from MoP people would be calling it trash.

I agree, I loved that expansion a lot. I really found my stride with Legion and beating Mage Tower was the cherry on the cake for me.

I’m outta likes so have these. :blue_heart: :blue_heart: :blue_heart:

I actually don’t mind cata at all, I think it gets a bad rap from its final patch and Dragon Soul, which is weird. Cata was good until the final patch, which people seem to remember as being bad. Then we have Legion which was absolute garbage up until its final patch, and people remember it as it some sort of incredible pinnacle of WoW. Apparently they’ve never played Diablo 3 to realize just how similar many of the systems were.

I’m most excited for Covenants and Torghast. What I’m not excited for? To see how the DPS abilities are balanced. I just hope Blizz does the sharp move and gives every covenant the same class ability but with a new lick of paint depending on your Covenant. Granted, I know that would be 48 abilities redone, but I just hope Blizz does it. They know what’s going to happen.

When was that an issue? Wasn’t that a BFA issue?

How does sharding ruin gameplay? It affects seeing other players sometimes, but that’s it.

Didn’t people love the artifact system? The problem was the infinite trait in 7.2.

Those systems kept the game fresh. Mythic+ is also fantastic.

It wasn’t “heavy.” The only issue that occurred was in the form of Order Hall Campaigns and Legionfall campaigns being timegated.

Not excited yet, nothing I’ve seen really caught my eye, not to mention after being hyped for BFA and being disappointed so hard, I’m not letting myself getting hyped for a wow expansion again.
I hope SL ends up being fantastic, but my expectations are low.

Most excited - Losing azerite traits, HOA and corruption.

Least excited - They will probably add them back in a different form, rip

The issue is that level scaling is the most anti-rpg system ever added to this game and ruins the feeling of progression. It reinforces the fact that leveling is totally meaningless. The devs may as well just gate max level behind x time played.

Yeah… that’s a major problem. This is a mmo. Anything that affects your ability to see other players sometimes is garbage. This crippled wpvp and broke the WorldDefense channel, and is a bandaid on top of another bandaid (crz).

The problem was also the fact that you were essentially locked into a spec in the beginning because having to grind a 2nd weapon if you wanted to respec was ridiculous.

You should try D3 (or any arpg) then.

I consider mechanics that are required to progress “heavy.” Perhaps not the right word. But the point remains that the mission table was almost universally hated in WoD, and as the devs do, they just kept running with it.

Most excited no azerite gear. least excited… Holinka is doing classes.

I’d much rather them not throw away zones just for leveling. Keeping zones relevant throughout the entirety of the expansion was one of the best parts of Legion.

Artifact knowledge.

I hate anime so no thanks. Mythic+ was a great addition and keeps dungeons relevant, while also giving players another way to get gear beyond just raiding 24/7.

Except… the mission table was heavily dubbed down and wasn’t all that important in Legion.

The issue with WoD mainly was the lack of a capital and a lack of content.

Most excited about streamlining the leveling for alts even if I’m apprehensive about the level squish and how it will impact old content farming.

Least excited about Torghast. Just worried these Visions are the preview and they’re not all that amazing to me.

with the exception of few things the mission table is just bonus items for the most part post WoD.

I will agree legion initally wasn’t only alt unfriendly… but spec unfriendly… i felt that sting when i went affliction in antorus.

I’m excited for Torgast, but I wouldn’t say I’m least excited more so cautiously concerned for the Covenants and how they’ll play out.

They could’ve easily done this like the war campaign in MoP. There was an entire max level area of the barrens. They didn’t need to destroy the entire progression system just so level 110s could have a few extra areas to play in.

Wasn’t a thing at the start.

Arpg = “action role playing game” not “anime role playing game”

I would argue that the main content WoD had (questing, dungeons, raids) was on par with Legion. What Legion had an abundance of was simple busywork (artifact power grind, dailies, rep grind, 2 part pathfinder grind, etc.), but I guess that’s all it takes to please some people.

dont really get hyped over blizzard products now. least hyped to see what trainwreck the wow B-team devs come up with after shadowlands

Covenants sound interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing the opening scenario. It should be a good one given the situation.

Not looking forward to PF again. I wish they would design content with flight in mind.

Legion was awesome. There will always be someone that will find something wrong with something. There were people complaining about Wrath and The Burning Crusade back in the day, often the same complaints you here now about grinding and the like. Now a bunch of people think Wrath was the best even though it had a ton of grinding and weak points as well as slow content release and some real lame content.

I mostly play Legion right now after returning after quitting during Cataclysm. Legion is the only expansion I wish I hadn’t missed and the main reason I continue to play. I want to be there playing if Blizzard manages to release another expansion as cool as Legion. You can play through it each class and have a slightly different experience. I play the opening scenario every time, while I skip BFA’s opening scenario. Legion is such deep expansion for content.

Legion had Class Halls with an interesting story. The mounts and titles were cool to work towards.

The Suramar story was fun and interesting.

I know we’ll likely disagree, but I felt the Legion story, cinematics, and questing were all well put together and really, really fun. I actually wanted to see what what would happen next in the story.

I have some toons I want to level in old zones, like Pandaria and such. That sounds like some serious fun. I like the idea of the revamp on classes and specs. It’s as if they are doing a reset. On top of that, I look forward to Shadowlands as a new expansion. I’m looking forward to the level squish, the new zones and the new, the covenant rewards and the armor. This xpac just looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Least excited: The level squish. The only way I’ll keep playing is if it’s optional.
