Badfinger were supposed to be the new Beatles, Paul McCartney even wrote and produced this. They were really screwed over by their manager, itā€™s a really sad story.

Neil Peart sucks?!

Blasphemy! :stuck_out_tongue:

Is he the greatest drummer in the world? No. Because thatā€™s subjective. Is he one of the greatest drummers in the world? Damn right!

edit: this reply is aimed at your video post not you.

I absolutely adore the music from all the Clint Eastwood westerns. Not a big fan of country western, but this music is awesome!!

What about something like this? The hair metal Western.

EDIT: Another Western inspired metal song.

I still mistakenly call the movie The Unforgiven because of this song.

I like the dark, brooding version as well.

ā€¦ speaking of dark and broodingā€¦

I like country/western, itā€™s just not my main vibe. I like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson for sure.

I love both of the songs you posted. :yum:

John Popper singing the truth.

ā€œWhoopsā€

Have you ever seen an atom
Little bits of everything floating by
Take a good look at them
Collectively they compose all you see including your eye

Brilliant puzzle
A living Rubix Cube we think we can figure out and solve
But weā€™re just monkeys
Scratching our heads trying to open our ears
To a chord that just wonā€™t seem to resolve

And we call it wisdom
Yes intellect in our truest sense of the word
You see for us security means a harmony
According to only what we have heard
And this along and nothing less
Will ease our heart and our mind
In the hopes that in feeling free weā€™ll reach paradise
On that hilltop weā€™re still trying to find

But the possibility exists no matter how scary it may seem
That paradise was once the world and it wasnā€™t just a dream
The earth was our heaven and we didnā€™t know there were rules for us to break
And maybe now weā€™ll find out too late what a clever hell we can make

Whoops
Whoops

In this corner
Weighing in at almost every weight imaginableā€¦
Life, and all that surrounds it
And in this corner
Weighing in at well, not really very much of anything;
A very sound and user friendly idea
On finally bringing that pesky mountain to Mohammed
Gentlemen at the sound of the harmonica solo you may come out fighting

Take a look at the horizon
Quiet and still
You know there used to be bison
Gentlemen you may fire at will
They say this land wonā€™t go to waste
But you gotta wonder how
You know weā€™re chopping down the air we breathe
As fodder for the cow

Thatā€™s right so we can eat well
Yes and starve to death
And say thereā€™s nothing we can do
Because we really donā€™t want to do a god damn thing
Look Iā€™m shrugging and so are you
We can imagine the straightest of lines
But our fingers canā€™t control the pen
And itā€™s this frustration that yields relief
As we say weā€™re just mortal men
And that means we get to torture a chimpanze
And infect him with disease
Because he screams just like a human child
While we study his desperate pleas

But the possibility exists no matter how scary it may seem
That paradise was once the world and it wasnā€™t just a dream
The earth was our heaven and we didnā€™t know there were rules for us to break
And maybe now weā€™ll find out too late what a clever hell we can make

Whoops
Whoops

While weā€™re on the subject you know my conscience hurts
And it will not go away
So please concoct me some pill I can take
While I think of something clever to say
So I can look in my mirror made of polished glass
And find no need to cringe
And forget that sinking feeling Iā€™m a dinosaur
Out on his drunken last binge

ā€¦from fossil to fossil
Dust to dust
Iā€™ll see you all in the earthy crust

Whoops
Whoops

Are you familiar with Coyote Oldman? Iā€™m guessing heā€™s one of the flautists in their rotation, sure sounds like him.

These days, Iā€™m mostly listening to New Age music. The music Iā€™ve been posting in here is more of a blast from the past. I still love it, but itā€™s like a fine wine. Iā€™ll sample it every now and then and savor the exquisite flavor.
