What are you gonna main for S3?

Hey guys. Just curious, what are you gonna main in S3?

I made the mistake of gearing up like 4-5 alts to around 650 ilvl, out of sheer boredom, waiting for S3. Now, I have no idea what I want to main. I don’t even know if I should do a tank/dps/healer. Do I do ranged? Melee? Caster? If I heal, should I do something like Holy Priest? Or Resto Drood? Maybe more combat oriented stuff like Disc Priest or Fistweaver?

This is confounding me. Normally I only have one geared toon going into a new season, but now I have too many. For those of you on the PTR, maybe you can shine some light. Is anything particularly strong, moving into S3, that doesn’t expect a lot of nerfs? Someone on trade mentioned Aug Evoker might be good. Just kinda sucks to solo open world stuff with them though.

My friend just got back into the game, and I want to play with him as much as I can after work, for M+ and delves and stuff, but on days when he’s busy, I still want to actually solo stuff.

Any suggestions? :crossed_fingers:

I’ll probably main whatever tank is meta so I’ll have instant invites to high keys, and then just play prot warrior and brew as alts cause they’re actually fun.

As for what you should play: whatever you believe is fun. If you’re doing keys up until like +12 it doesn’t matter one bit how classes synergize anyway. If you’re aiming for title or higher then you’ll probably have a better time as a meta spec since you’ll spend less time applying for groups.

Affliction Warlock, been my go-to for a while now.
I’ll probably alt BM Hunter, and dabble in Boomie and UH DK.

I like DoTs and pets.

Monk.
Fistweaving when grouped for quick groups.
WW for solo.

gonna quit the game if I don’t get blazing drake from this event tbh.

I dunno yet, honestly.

Will see if the class updates change anything for my warband.

I might end up defaulting to my Hunter, just because I’m best at him.

But, I can see myself also playing tank/healer just to get into groups faster once the new content is out.

BrM Monk is getting some slight buffs, maybe that’ll be enough for me to main him again.

I’ll do what I do every patch. Start as havoc and change to Windwalker after about two weeks.

Same thing I’ve been playing since s1 of DF and all of wotlk, holy priest.

‘Geared up’? What, did you abandon them at 70 or something?

Myself, I’ll be maining this character as always. Shadow spec, also as always.

Y’know what they say. If it ain’t broke.

I am going to main a ww monk. It’s been really fun learning the spell priority and getting used to a melee class again. Switching it up feels nice.

Well, one of my geared alts is an Enhance. He’s Alliance though. I guess that doesn’t matter much for M+ but I won’t be able to queue with my friend for like TW and stuff. Hmm…

What if one of them ends up being the meta? :smirk:

Ahhhhh, I do like Affliction. I mained a Demo Warlock this season, because the AoE is really great and it’s amazing at soloing. Affliction would feel different enough, but is it good for M+? I feel like it’s vastly inferior to Demo, but maybe I’m wrong. Aff is so satisfying in raids though. Easily my favorite ST centric caster. I hate malefic rapture though. I probably always will.

Fistweaving was great in the last season of DF. I had so much fun with it. Is it still good?

Which spec? I just tried out Marks recently and am finding myself overwhelmed and confused. I never played it much but I don’t vibe with BM anymore. And Survi is just…no.

Tbh I have rarely ever played this. Maybe I should give it a shot?

Based.

Oh sorry, I’m stupid. For whatever reason I keep remembering the ilvl being 400.

They’re 650, not 450. I’ll edit the OP in a second, lol.

I just do world stuff and delves. I’ll focus on classes with particular tier sets I want. Must haves for me are the blue and gold pally set, the purple priest set, the purple warlock set, the purple/blue shaman set, the purple and gold hunter set, and any of the mage pve sets.

I don’t do alts anymore. I don’t have the time or desire to play multiple characters. I just stick with my paladin at this point. Plays well and looks good. On to season three.

What spec? :face_with_monocle:

I have an Earthen Prot Pally that’s close to 660 and he’s my special little boy.

I probably won’t main him in S3 but I’ll definitely rely on him for tanky stuff.

Then I’ll send flowers, chocolate and a hand written declaration of love to Ion for finally making one of them a meta spec.

Maybe then he’ll finally smile.

I mainly play ret but I have a one hander and shield on me to switch to protection for world content if I need to solo something harder. I’ll switch to protection to deal with the world boss for example.
