Let me make something very clear here.
Stonetalon was NOT a “Great Warcheif” moment for Garrosh. Stonetalon was a not a moment of honor for the Horde. You had an orc in a position of power and authority, mercilessly murder young druids in Stonetalon. A man what would of had to be appointed by either Garrosh or Thrall in the first place.
Furthermore, Garrosh made ZERO attempts to pay reparations to the Kaldorei for the atrocities that were done in Stonetalon. This shows us that Garrosh cared more about his own personal sense of honor rather than the lives of innocents. This does not make him a good or respectable leader, this makes him a selfish sociopath, which brings me to the next point.
He always was. Since day one. in Wrath, he wanted to destroy the humans Kingdoms and then fight the Scourge on their own. He thought the Horde should rule all of Azeroth, and believe that so strongly, that he challenged Thrall to Mok’gora for it!
Garrosh was not “Made a Villain”, he always was. Maybe some writers wanted to take him in a different direction, but that’s not the direction that was originally laid out for him, and that is obvious. He’s a war monger, genocidal maniac, just like his father, far before MOP.
Yeah, because that Blood Oath is dangerous. It’s blind devotion to the wills and whims of a single individual, which is NEVER a good system of governing. That is why, historically, absolute monarchies fell out of popularity, and that is ultimately why the Alliance does not have the same sort of inter-faction conflict that the Horde has. Because The High King of the Alliance is an honorary position, and not a position that demands absolutely loyalty and devotion.
Because the Horde, as a culture, is not something that is sustainable. Sure, the writers could write it however they want, but it would not be believable. You have the orcs, who are prone to impulsive acts of violence due to their natural blood fury. You have Trolls who a long history of being uncooperative with each other, let alone other races. And you have the undead, who are morally twisted.
Yet, for some reason, the Horde has chosen and Orc, Troll and Undead to be their leaders? Rather than the sensible Tauren, who might be the only stable race in the Horde… One could say Thrall built his Horde with the Tauren serving as the idealistic example for what he wanted his Horde to be.
She was the Horde’s biggest cheer leader for YEARS. She turned a blind eye to the Horde killing her own father! How was she your rival?
Jaina it totally justified, and should be the walking, talking example for why the Horde needs to change.
I mean, really, if you look at the Horde Culture, their system of Government, their geographic location, and the moral ambiguity that is inherent with many Horde races… No one should be surprised that they have the problems they have.
