Also, yes that is just a normal BG now. It used to be every bad player would complain about MM because they didn’t know how to deal with them. But now, they actually are just broken

If you are leading with curse of weakness you aren’t closing the gap on an MM hunter unless they are bad and just stand still. You will get binding shot, tar trap, concussive shot, etc and the hunter will disengage back to 60+ yards and kill you while you waddle around looking for LoS. Most BGs do not have adequate line of sight like arenas to prevent this. Also MM hunter doesn’t really care about crits, so weakness doesn’t save you. Crits are nice but they are not needed to 100-0 someone.
99% of them just unload at the start . So I use astral shift and try to blow them up or force a turtle in the 8 secs I have. Then I heal when they are under turtle and hope that someone comes to help me till my CD’s come back !!
Well, you said you would use curse of weakness rather than curse of exhaustion, so I’ll side with Bob. Gateway to close gap and then exhaustion after they disengage would be good if in range to do it, however.
I was willing to account for me being rusty from an LOA, but yeah, even with that-that was a lot of thunder for ole Doors. Lol

Man this isn’t even a big open BG with lots of side objectives to sneak off to and farm kills. BfG is small and reinforcing objectives takes so little time.
As far as defensives, They could just treat them like glass cannons, same as fire mage. If you touch em, the disintegrate like a house centipede. Sniper shot is now “You get sniper shot, but you lose turtle” or lose health or take a high % damage or whatever.

Saltwater potion is damage done by 30% for 12 seconds
Then you got regular primary stat pots
And phials
And Fauna runes
And BG buffs like Berserker
It gets pretty nutty out here
