What are the real best levels to do dungeons?

I’m sitting here on a hunter that I’ve slowly grinded mobs on for a few days to get to level 27. Before that I managed to do a couple SFK runs but the mobs were grey for half the dungeon because people wanted level 22 plus for it. Now people are wanting 29+ for RFK, even though it’s a 25 dungeon. But that’s because some of the last bosses will be red or whatever. But here’s the thing, using this line of reasoning, people are only able to get into groups for maybe a level or two of each dungeon before not gaining anymore experiance, then they have to go back to painfully grinding mobs for another 5 levels which takes days just because everyone wants you to be 5 plus levels above the dungeons requirement.

Idk if this is just a DPS problem or what, but at this rate i’ll be 60 on this hunter in about 8 months. The good news is, I’ve managed to keep my skinning and leatherworking pretty much maxed out for the most part as best possible due to killing so many freaking beasts in southern barrens and stonetalon mountains. So there’s that, plenty of silver/gold in my pocket. Should be able to buy half the server by the time I ding 60 just by vendoring 20000 mobs worth of leather.

You do know questing exists right?

Yeah I do some quests, but sometimes mob grinding is faster due to all the quests being flooded, or if the particular zone is full of gankers 15 levels higher. I’d just like to do dungeons but the gap between levels is too high to be able to only do dungeons nonstop. I gotta go back to grinding to hit that next ‘‘Trade chat min level’’ req for the next one up, which is usually like a level or two before the mobs turn grey.

A lot of the gear in rfk is for lvl 29s. They just want someone in the group who isnt fighting red or orange mobs most of the time because they will have a greater chance of missing/resisting on them and the mobs will have a higher chance of critting on you. And sometimes people arent going into dungeons for xp, they are going in for the gear.

The meeting stones outside the dungeons are an accurate level range.

For example, even though you can get quests for RFC at level 9 - it would be wise not to go in there with a full group of level 9 characters because melee attacks would miss and spells would be resisted. The same can be said for Wailing Caverns or SFK - Going into Wailing Caverns at 15 or SFK at 18 is possible, but it’s not desirable.

If you really want the challenge of doing dungeons at those levels, find like-minded people to join you and start your own group. Stop relying on other groups to take you on and lead from the front.

Every dungeon has a level range, which you can search to get an idea.

And then, a healer can be a bit BELOW that range, because they’re not hitting anything.

But for DPS, yeah you do want to be sort of nearer the higher end of the level range, because (a) the way levels factor into hitting mobs, and (b) you are competing with other DPS for that slot.

If (a) is new to you, to oversimplify it, if a mob is +4 (or more) to you, your MISS and resist rates skyrocket.

(a) is also why levels very much matter in PvP.

TL;DR… yes, it’s a lot harder getting groups as PDS (but soloing is much easier)

Sounds like it’s a good time for BFD, friend.

If you are having this issue maybe others are too. Have you tried doing an LFG specifying you are looking for people lower in the dungeon’s level range? Maybe you’ll have some luck.

BFD is the right level range for you
