What are the Djinn "gifts" Blizzard has given us?

You get valor to upgrade your m+ gear…

… But you have to do all dungeons on a certain key level in order to actually be able to use the valor to upgrade to the m+ max level gear

(does this count?)

You get the PvP vendor you’ve all been crying out for during BfA back in SL…

… But we reduce the loot drops in PvE

This isn’t a Djnn wish. This is like the Genie followed the pure intent of your wish and actually went the extra mile and expanded upon your wish to better fulfill the spirit of your wish (adding a whole new achievement for the Bronze-tier rewards @ 8 M5s).

The Valor system they’ve gone with is like 95% purely blessed. My only additional wish is some mechanism to get 233 weapons and trinkets.

I don’t know if it is. I’m fairly certain I could do Mists, Halls, SD, Plaguefall, Necrotic Wake, and Theater of Pain on a +10 in a bit. However, De Other Side and Spires already scared me in M0

and no way I’m gonna pay for carries

I mean, I like and think the system to upgrade items is good - but I wouldn’t say they are even fulfilling a wish.

The wish people had was help getting a piece of loot to drop in the first place. This system doesn’t do that at all - and actually sends people back to farm a piece of loot they already have all over again if they want to leverage the new system.

That’s where the tainting and overlap of the wish comes into play.

No? With infinitely farmable loot, that was not a major concern. It simply was not. The concern was quality.

LOL you’re so right, I’ve often felt that too. Like you’re asking your boss for something, you get it, but in “exchange” you lose something else, like … you ask for casual Fridays, you get it, but you have to … oh man… you know what I mean.

Corruption vendor.

I’m here from the future since some moron necro’d this thread.

Tldr or cliffs anyone?

Woah you’re right this is an oldie, I didn’t even notice!

I disagree. Quality was a minor part, sure. But the biggest issue voiced all around was the right loot dropping in the first place.

That’s why people were asking for a vendor to buy gear after 20+ runs if a piece never dropped.

Here’s the way I look at this situation - this new Valor system has been widely positively received, and the system was tailored to meet the demands of players who were upset.

If you have two houses and you come in after a great fire and see one still dripping with water, you can imagine that was the one on fire and the one that got the hose. You don’t spray the hose on the house that isn’t on fire and the fire department wouldn’t have received great praise if they didn’t put out the actual fire.

Except that nothing is on fire. They just have to press some buttons. If they fear people will max out their characters too quickly and move on, they have seemed to forgotten that the other side of the coin is just alienating / frustrating players who also just move on.

Someone is clearly hoping for the Necromancer Class.

Like I said - I think the overall upgrade system is good. No doubt about that. But it didn’t address the primary concern with getting M+ loot to drop in the first place and at least for this tier, the fact that old items can’t be upgraded exacerbates this primary concern because anyone that was hoping to at least be able to grind out the currency to upgrade a low ilvl item they already got lucky enough to drop now has to go back to the RNG casino.

I would say that 2 houses were on fire. They put out one, but at least in the short term, enflamed the other one in the process- and that was the one many players really wanted to get addressed.

An interesting compromise would be to allow covenant gear be upgraded to the existing cap set forth by the planned nine-oh-five changes.

In this way, it promotes PvE through covenant renown while also bridging into instanced pve.

Actually, it would be interesting to have a Djinn class. As a healer you could put out a HoT and a DoT on the same player. A DPS you can put a DoT and HoT on the boss. I mean it has possibilities. Or you could buff your team with something but in exchange you get to take one of their abilities away and use it yourself.

Oof, if it’s like blizzard I doubt anyone would want to play it.

When an old species finally becomes available as a hunter pet, but only as a new model that poorly resembles the original one that’s been pined over for so long.
