What are the chances we're ever gonna find out what Ve'nari's deal is before the expansion is over?

So, this super shifty broker that’s in the maw because she betrayed a bunch of people for… what reason again? But isn’t allied with the jailer. But this other broker in Korthia is trying to kill her.

Be real nice to have some closure.

Any closure.

Begging for some closure…

The brokers were honestly one of the things that had so much potential, to be an interesting part and story of the expansion. Sadly I think unless Zeth Mortis has some broker McGuffins to McGuffin the reasons behind the brokers and Venari and how she stole a McGuffin from her people.

They were one of many story ideas that were not fleshed out, and inevitably abandoned.

You didn’t hear that Griftah died and became a broker?

Brokers are sort of like goblins. They act a lot out of sheer self-interest, profit and curiosity. It doesn’t make them evil or with the Jailer. They’re just typical people. There’s good ones, shifty ones and bad ones. Ve’nari just wanted a bigger slice of the pie and didn’t want to share with a team. She wanted to learn about us, the Maw and even saw an opportunity now to reach the fabled Zereth Mortis.

This whole situation is a goldmine of information and power of influence for her to gain that most other brokers are not able to do. This is a new experience to the SL.

The attendant in Korthia knew of her reputation and history so he’s rightly wary of her. Even Ve’nari tells us to not really trust anyone or herself. She’s potentially dangerous and clearly out for herself above all else.

Slightly higher than our chance at rescuing Ben Howell

Didn’t they foreshadow that she’ll have a part to play in 9.2?

nah i presume it’ll be dropped and ignored like some sword in a desert somewhere

You do remember the big honking sword sticking out of Azeroth for 2 expansions right? Closure requires an ability to follow through on lore without back peddling every patch.

I highly suspect they created her as a vague character concept and not as something with a fleshed out story already written. Maybe we learn more about her maybe we won’t.

FWIW, the “closure” with the sword was sucking all of the bad space magic out of it with our Artifact Weapons. There was a big cutscene and everything.

Whether they remove the physical object in a future plotline or not, who knows, but I think siphoning out that power was meant to be the end of the immediate danger there, and now the sword is just kind of a dormant landmark more than an actual thing doing more damage.

You do remember where Azerite comes from? The whole of BFA was supposed to be an arms race due to Azeroth spewing forth Azerite because of that sword.

I’m gonna say somewhere between 47.3% and 62.49%

I hope it’s just not another open end left by bad writing.

That’s fair.

New question:
What did we actually DO with the Heart of Azeroth? Things were about to get real bad but then we stabilized things in the Heart Chamber using it. Does that mean Azerite is no longer bubbling up everywhere post-BfA? If that’s the case, the Sword being there is a non issue and Blizzard basically beat around the bush to solve that issue because they thought tugging it out or sawing it off or whatever would be boring and not lead anywhere.

I don’t see how we could have stabilized anything if it didn’t stop the damage from continuing at the same time. Not saying it’s good writing, but I really feel like they’re wanting to consider that a closed plotline and have it as a permanent landmark.

We put it in our junk drawer beside 3 old iphones, busted charger cable, a bunch of nickels and a half-empty pack of trident.

I fear you probably have thought that through in greater detail than the retcon team.

Don’t remind me about Ben :sob:

As for Ve’nari…actually surprised she’s not on the boss list anywhere. Highly expected her to stab us in the back by now.

just like heritage armor for the races that didn’t get theirs

idk the whole back story behind her but sounds like irl bs to me. business men doing shady things for power/money; some other business man screws them over so they want blood for it.

assuming she is hiding in the maw because that is the only place where the brokers can’t find her also assuming the brokers are sided with the jailer due to “business” thus she did what she wanted to do and screwed the other brokers over.

Azeroth is fixed. All azerite wounds have been sealed, the titan was healed and restored. The sword is not poisonous or dangerous anymore. We’re good on that front! Magni confirmed at the end of BfA that all was well with her, she was strong and healthy after N’Zoth’s defeat.

At the moment the Heart we just banked. The lore reason is it lost its titan connection when we left Azeroth.
