Is it worth playing on a rp server on retail ? Im tired of playing the game and seeing the world dead. On what RP server should i roll on NA ?
Your options are really Moon Guard for Alliance or Wyrmrest Accord for horde.
There are no real benefits unless you like RP’ing. I guess you could say people are more talkative, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter since so much content is done cross-server.
The main cities definitely feel more alive in RP servers. Moonguard is the go-to server for Alliance RP with so many different events and Stormwind is always popping, along with Goldshire.
WA, while not as populous as Moonguard is still really active with a great community and has more Horde, but both servers still have smaller populations of the opposite faction.

I would say socializing.
However, my experience is that neither of the two largest RP servers are very open to RP outside of guilds. Most RP requires you to know the people you’re interacting with and to be part of that community (or affiliated guild).
You’d get the same experience on any PvE server.

I’m not big into RP, but when I attended server RP events for Moon Guard I never felt unwelcome. There’s also walkup RP available in Stormwind. Like anything, you get out what you put in.
There’s also walkup RP available at the shadowy place on Moon Guard, but you must not go there Simba.

The benefit would be roleplaying, but only Moon Guard Alliance roleplays anymore. Other than that it would be a smaller, more chill population for most RP servers.

If you go to a RP server because you like the lively community where Trade and LFG still have people chatting, you can see people running around in the main cities and it just seems more alive overall but you’re not interested in RP that’s fine, as long as you’re respectful and not disruptive to the people doing RP there.
And sometimes your friendly but often silent observer Hordie watching from a safe distance

What RP events? From someone outside looking in, there are no events to be found.
Not really. Most people just navigate to their cliques or ignore strangers. Believe me, I’ve tried.

I’m not about to start tossing out the specific sites and days/times of RP events to the wolves on General Discussion and invite trolling, but a good starting point is if you attend the Gnightly Gnews at 9pm server (Central) in the Stormwind memorial district. Events tend to get advertised there, as well as the Discords that you can join for more details. The MG server forum has events that get advertised too.
The big BIG yearly events tend to be in March (The World’s Fair Carnival) and in August (The Tournament of Ages) but other smaller stuff runs year round!
YMMV. Walkup RP approaches are an art. It can be a good idea to hang out and watch people for a while or go up to people on their own to see how it goes, to get a feel for what people are expecting and looking for, and to suss out who is wanting to interact.

That subscription to ‘Kleenex Monthly’ will finally pay off.
Your server will be more immersive than most. Youll come across players rping in the randomest places. Ive seen an Alliance guild rping as guards at a tower in some swampland I forgot the name of. It definitely brings life to unused zones.
