At the area where the pet battle world quests are in Forbidden Reach, there’s several battle pets that are epic and not capturable. Once you do the world quest, they all disappear. Do they have a purpose?
Defeating them weakens the WQ Pet Battle Boss from Legendary to Epic then Epic to Rare.
Also note that defeating Vortex, Flow, etc as a rare rewards you with them as a battle pet.

Yes, the extra battle pets are to reduce the primary quest pet. I have battled Vortex twice at rare and have had the same battle pet drop each time. I like this but can see those pets as being quite abundant and cheap later on.
I haven’t checked if battling them at a higher quality gives you different bonuses.

I’ve been just fighting them at their legendary level and it doesn’t give anything other than the WQ reward.
I doubt it, mainly because they can’t be caged.

Yea, juat noticed that as I now have 3 of the Vortex pets and was gonna sell off one or two.
I wonder if they’ll keep dropping?
