What are some good gold farms?

Wondering if there are any decent ones as an alliance rogue. I know that questing at max level is great but I don’t want to effectively waste EXP for when the level cap increases.

What do?

Become a mage Fish Oil vendor.

Make a Hunter, give your pet a chinese name(for rp purposes) and just kill beasts and skin them all day long, like legit you should stay awake for 30+ hours and do nothing but kill monsters.

Can I get at least one non troll answer? Thanks.

You arent going to get good answers because hardly anyone farms gold anymore.

They buy it. Openly.

Arn’t you just going to get banned for that?

leatherworking, pick a few locations that have questing areas about beast related stuff, maybe cooking quests specifically, or pick pocket humanoids, you get lock boxes that contain 30c - 1s, sometimes contains healing potions or gems, you sometimes get gems just for pickpocketing.

You’d think, but not really these days

now, as for my recommendations, mining still seems like an okay moneymaker, doing quests at cap, and farming murlocs for pearls/fishoil are the 3 i’m trying my own hand at

i know you mentioned not wanting to waste exp at cap so forego that one if you’re not comfortable leveling via a dungeon group for a few levels, but if you are, then i’d say nab any quests that might turn green within those levels and scoop up the gold, and leave the current oranges for when you’re at 28-30

id go back to all the starter zones with your 25 and just do all those quests (you wont be losing big xps) but some of those quest would still give you 20s to 60s each and thats more silver than turning in those full supply crates.

I heard they removed all world chest in higher zones so you cant just camp those or the arena chest.

side note, you could just make a temp character - get it to 25 and do all the quests and get gold that way - delete the character and go again. It doesnt take much time/effort to level and if you arent going to keep the character just leveling it to 25, you dont even need to farm items. I made it to 25 on a night elf hunter with just level 1 gray items and made over 400g

Most people are not going to tell you where they are farming their gold. Esp not this early into new servers. Otherwise they risk other people seeing this information and it affecting their gold making.

Try selling the Ordinance items from the Dark Iron dwarves. They are sellable on the A/H and drop very frequently from the dwarves in wetlands. Spend an hour there in a raid group and you can maybe get like 20-40 ordinance items, on my server they are selling for around 70s to 1g each still.

Farm and sell any quest items. ( the redridge goulash quest items usually sell decently ) and chances are with the amt of people rolling alts the a/g might be starved for boat snouts, Crisp Spider Meat, Tough Condor Meat seems to sell the best. There is a decent area in redridge where they spawn faster than normal even on dead days.

Best way to earn gold right now is via selling the auto salvage items for the runes everyone needs, bonus if you are an engineer, farm the pattern from Sneed in Deadmines, craft the auto salvage units, profit. Could also farm a ton of the matts required for those things and sell them on the a/h

Another way is to grab fishing and go into wailing caverns, fish at the very end where the murloc end boss is. Deviate Delights have a higher drop chance from this location. If you farm adds in the barrens you can get the pattern to cook that. Either way if you cook them or not, sell them. They go for lots.

Farm dungeons, disenchant (most) greens, sell certain greens with stat budgets ( heavy int sells for lots ) on the A/H, sell the cloth.

Quest at lvl 25. Around 17/19 start spamming dungeons till you hit 25, go back and complete all the quests you can in lowbie zones. You will get paid instead of get XP if you are lvl 25.

I was facing the same issue, and don’t have a good answer for you. I was trying to grind the ordinance and fish oil for the rune with very little luck and would probably take days to complete. I gave up.

Instead I decided since I was going to be stuck grinding I would rather grind for exp in the next phase than quest items and gold in this phase. I can grind exp in lots of ways and places. Those quest items and gold are way more limited. Like 20 minutes of quests satisfied the fish oil and the ordinance, and put me on my way for the shredder parts.

I’m still only doing just enough quests to pay for the items I need for the rune though.

Redo starting zone quests after hitting level 25.
Farm Iridescent Pearls, Ordinance items from Dark Iron dwarves, go Engineering and make the shredder auto-salvage units, go skinning and skin level 30+ mobs for heavy leather, solo farm RFK for BoEs, make a low level enchanter and disenchant BoE greens since people need a bunch of dust and mats for the epic crafted item questline.

Atm iridescent pearls are selling for around 6g a pop so farming tbe Murloc outside Menethil harbor isn’t to bad if you can grouo and melt them.
