I’m officially looking for a new main. After 7ish years of balance, i’m bored of it.
I don’t really raid or pvp, but do plan on doing some lfr and older raids from legion and bfa. Other than that, it’s really old raids, open world stuff, etc.
But wanna try something new. With a fun playstyle and decent survivability. (No paladins though, don’t like yellow) Willing to try anything. Wanna know what my options are before i level 60 boost it. (don’t wanna waste it)
For LFR, you might like BM hunter, the spec is good and easy to pick up. It’s being nerfed and by that I mean it will be still good just not bugged/broken.
I think that melee will be the biggest difference compared to Boomkin, and Rogues are pretty mediocre at open world content (especially soloing rares), so that leaves DH, DK, Monk, Warrior, Shaman, and Survival for you.
All of the ones with tank specs have massive survivability - you just swap to tank whenever it’s a hard fight, and you’ll live. Survival is also great at survivability (surprise!) because it’s a pet spec.
I personally would lean towards Survival Hunter, because I love the rotation and having pets, or Arms Warrior, because I love plate transmog. But there’s tons of fun melee specs out there. I really enjoy WW, Enhance, and Havoc. I haven’t played DK basically ever, so I can’t comment on that one.
I know. I just mean it’s a shame that you can’t enjoy the new moonkins if you’re bored with the actual spec. I started playing it this patch specifically because of them! But I do have to say it’s not the smoothest spec around. And I also find it kind of off-putting how much collateral damage you do as balance. It’s especially bad at the moment when we’re hanging out in the emerald dream!
Anything besides destruction warlock. Or warlock in general. They got reamed. Any mage spec would do well. All 3 specs are top tier, while all 3 specs for warlock are gimped. I made my point.
BM Hunter is, and I kid you not, currently one of the most bonkers specs I’ve seen in a very long time right now. Like, I genuinely cannot wrap my head around how that spec shipped in the state it’s currently in and how it copped somewhere in the realm of a ~33% nerf and is STILL that ridiculous.
Yep. That way, you get 3 different ranged DPS specs, and there’s a good chance you enjoy one or more of them. At least you will have something new to learn.
Right now a new patch just dropped so we are in the class politics phase, where classes try to get other classes nerfed while trying to avoid the nerf bat themselves. I\d give it a couple weeks before hard committing yet.
