What am I missing to start the undead heritage armor quest?

according to the guide:

UNDEAD HERITAGE QUESTLINE REQUIREMENTS
This questline is a racial activity for Forsaken characters only. You have to be on an Undead character to pick it up and complete the quest. There are two basic requirements for this questline:

  1. You must be an Undead
  2. You must be level 50 or above
  3. You must have completed the quest Return to Lordaeron (https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=15579/return-to-lordaeron) questline from the Dragonflight Pre-Patch event on that character - If you have not, speak with Calia Menethil in Oribos or Orgrimmar to do the questline, starting with the quest Call to Lordaeron.

Once you meet these requirements, find Lilian Voss by the Ruins of Lordaeron to start the quest Unliving Summons .

I am a level 70 undead warlock, in good standing with the Necrolords with only repeatable campaign quests (blue !) offered weekly, level 50 on their meter. I used threads of fate to level through Shadowlands. Trivial quests are being tracked.

Calia Menethil and a forsaken Dreadmage are standing by the table in Oribos with no quests being offered. The dreadmage will port me to the instanced Tirisfal Glades, but no quests are available there either.

Calia is not waiting for me in Orgrimmar.

I am also having this same experience on my level 70 Undead Priest and my Blood Elf Hunter main. I was able to finally get the Dark Ranger Armor by completing it on another 70 hunter alt who could see Calia in Orgrimmar.

Calia Menethil just seems to be randomly MIA from Orgrimmar only has an ‘Eternal City beauty’ dialog in Oribos for some characters.

What am I missing?

I’m not sure, but you may have to advance the SL campaign to a point where she offers that quest. It was released during the Zereth Mortis patch, iirc, which is the last leg of that. I don’t know if there are skip options for players who have never done any SL content, but try talking to the various NPCs standing around that table in Oribos and look for red text.

Pretty sure you have to be exalted with your races home city.

You do not need to be exalted. They removed all reputation requirements for Heritage Armor.

I just did this on an Undead Death Knight. You definitely don’t need to do the Shadowlands campaign. I leveled through dungeons and Cataclysm Chromie Time, and then picked up the quest at level 50.

I don’t remember exactly how it started, but the quest sends you to Brill. You might just go to Brill and see if Calia is there waiting for you.

Edit: If some of your characters can see Calia and others cannot, maybe you’re stuck in a different Orgrimmar phase or Chromie Time?

That was for allied races. Core races I’m pretty sure you still do. I boosted a gnome last week. I didn’t get offered the quest until I got him exalted with gnomeregan.

I thought she was in Oribios giving the quest.

Gotta be exalted with Undercity, I think. It’s not that hard, usually start with Silverpine, then Hillsbrad, and then one arc in Arathi, boom you’re exalted with Undercity.

Or just farm TBC dungeon with tabard >.>

I’ve been leveling a bunch of new races for Heritage Armor because of the anniversary XP boost.

I’ve picked up Goblin, Undead, and Human heritage armor in the last week. Human was boosted during Shadowlands, the others are leveled manually. No rep grinding on any of them - but to be totally fair, I probably do have a character exalted with all of those factions on the account.

Wowhead doesn’t mention reputation for Undead specifically.

Edit: Found a source - reputation requirements removed in April 2023.

Wowhead comments saying they moved Calia recently and she is no longer in Oribos. She’s in Orgrimmar by Grommash Hold.

Regardless of the reputation debate, the Return to Lordaeron pre-requisite for the Undead Heritage Armor quest should be available to anyone.

Yeah, absolutely this way. Slap on a tabard for your home city, then head out to netherstorm, and zoom through The Mechanar on repeat, killing every mob. It takes no time at all.

they removed that requirement
no need to be exalted

I was indeed 1000 or so short from exalted in UC, so I went to brill and got that…but that wasn’t it.

Calia Menethil and a forsaken Dreadmage are still standing by the table in Oribos with no quests being offered. The dreadmage will port me to the instanced Tirisfal Glades, but no quests are available there either.

Calia is still not waiting for me in Orgrimmar.

Any more ideas?

They added a version of her that pops up in Orgrimmar that offers the quest as well, provided you’re level 50. You might have to exit Chromie Time though.

She’s not in Orgrimmar. I know where she is supposed to be because she is there for some of my characters, just not my main hunter or my 2 undead characters.

I needed the quest on a hunter to get the unlock for the dark ranger ensemble. Fortunately I have 4 hunters over 60 and one of them was able to see Calia in Orgrimmar to complete the pre-req and get it unlocked account wide.

The problem is that Calia is not in Orgrimmar for either of my 2 undead 70 chars. I can’t get the pre-req Q from her to unlock the Undead Armor quest. This is getting maddening.

I assume you’ve done the zone quest every single zone of Threads of Fate as well since you used it?

No you do not. OP literally quoted the requirements.

I am now Exalted with UC on both my level 70 Undead Characters and still am unable to get the quest.

I’d ask in CS, because they may have some insight to possible phasing issues and maybe Vrak or Orylia can help tomorrow morning when they get in.

Are you in the right time period? There is a comment on the wowhead page from someone who spoke to Zidormi to change it, then back again, and the they saw the quest.

You can boost and still get heritage armor now?
