Trying to progress past mythic 9. Ive cleared quite a few Mythic 9’s since the patch. Some fails, some passes. All depends on the groups, but I’ve definitely cleared m9 more than enough to progress past m9. Before the Patch, I cleared m11 a couple times and cleared m10 every week for months. I was probably 405il to 410il at that time. I also have to note that getting into m9 groups can at times even be difficult as I sometimes get declined often. Even though, again, cleared plenty of M9’s.
Sense the patch, I’ve progressed to 435il(resto btw) and I still struggle getting into m9’s often times having to sit through half an hour of declines for m9 content that I’ve been clearing fine for a long time now. I still have not gotten into a m10… What on earth is going on? Logic dictates that if you’re completing the pre-required key and are properly equipped, you should be able to progress to the next key right? What gives?
Its bad enough that we’re time gated by blizzard but the community is literally a bigger hurdle then the games own time gating. Everyone wants way more than whats needed. I’m stuck at a m9 brick wall. it’s like passing the 9th grade in HS and getting put back into the 9th grade every year. wtf is the point?
IO is cancerous to the enjoyment of the game right now. For me at least. Pvp isn’t enjoyable and you can only raid so much. without Mythic progression, there is nothing worth doing in this game. I already have the mogs I want and mount farming is at the bottom of my interests in the game. I have flying unlocked, there is nothing else to do in the game. At this point, I’m watching paint dry.
I complete my +10s in a guilded group and never worry about the elitist tank having a hissyfit, the toxic healer critiquing dps’ parse or a hunter pulling extra packs because he thinks the tank isn’t pulling fast enough.
If I need randos to complete my m10 for the week, then I just don’t run that week.
I’m aware that I can do that. Point is you shouldn’t have to. Especially as a healer. I chose to deal with the aggravation of rolling heals even though it literally takes double the skill that dps roles do. Solely for the reason that I could get into groups. No secret, tanks and healers are harder to find than dps. If I gotta create a group every time I want to push mythics I may as well roll Boomkin…
Guess that’s what Ill have to start doing. Beg the guildies to push mythics. Sad that you can’t even use the system put in place to play the game. All because of some addon that doesn’t even have proper information about your abilities all while influencing the communities decisions on who to take or not take into groups. Just doesn’t seem right.
Raider IO really only tells half a story; which is unfortunate.
I get why it exists; people don’t want to waste time with bads.
But it creates toxicity and elitism, which is why blizzard should break the addon and implement their own version.
Or the addon should track other statistics; allow users to parse other data such as toxicity, incompetence, early leaving and, “summon me,” inconsiderate behaviour.
People keep saying this, yet I’ve never seen any concrete example on how it’s true. I mean, not taking someone who’s not experienced to a 10 or higher key is neither toxic nor elitist, it’s just common sense.
which is why blizzard should break the addon
I mean, it uses exactly what the Blizzard API supplies and it violate no rules, so why should Blizzard break it?
and implement their own version.
They did, it’s in the armory.
Or the addon should track other statistics; allow users to parse other data such as toxicity, incompetence, early leaving and, “summon me,” inconsiderate behaviour.
Well, one, that’s not something supplied by the API, so they really can’t. Two, tracking incompetence will just make it even more exclusive, it’s going to go something like “oh you are 1k io, but you can barely pull 30k dps, nope, not taking you.”
Well considering the fact that the developers have come right out and said that m+ dungeons are intended for organized groups (a.k.a. guild groups, dedicated m+ teams, etc.) I’d say that your best option is to run with your guildies. Which will have the added bonus of you never worrying about your raider io score ever again.
I am also not a fan of raider io as people can be carried through timed keys. But, I also recognize that it’s the best tool out there for people that insist on pugging content that isn’t meant to be pugged. Yes, it’s not perfect, but nothing ever is.
Give me a break dude. Playing resto druid in m+ is easy mode. Try playing a disc priest and then we can have a conversation. You are having trouble getting invites because of your low score. If you were smart you would stop posting this BS and get to 1K IO. Form your own group and invite only 1K+ people.
Disc is easy too. I have one of those as well. I think disc is easier. More panic buttons and better aoe healing. Spread attonement and dps most of the runs. Barrier, Radiance, and Halo are crazy good. You don’t have to sit still long enough to get off a Tranquility in a dungeon where you have to reposition constantly. Almost everything is instant cast or a short cast. Disc is way better for mythics than a resto Druid. Dot all enemy targets and pop Radiance… Crazy hard bro…
Okay, one, you shouldn’t be taking Halo in a m+ dungeon. It has the potential to pull extra ads or remove crowd control effects. Two, I also play healing priest and druid (at 10+ keys), and I can tell you unequivocally that resto druid blows both holy and disc out of the water. My 20 i-level less druid heals everything with ease compared to my i-level 440 priest.
It’s not even a contest. More utility, more defensives, more crowd control, a battle rez, better toolkit, and good dps if you talent into kitty. Furthermore, there are specific affixes that are highly unoptimal to heal as disc but are handled with ease as resto. Not to mention the fact that priests are extremely squishy.
