I just started to PVP, it has been a very long time and I am find arenas to be an unbearable experiance. I PVP as a healer and honestly feels like I spend 90% of the time in some sort of croud control. I am limited to using instant heals, I can never get a “cast” off. I will commonly be the only person in a solo shuffle without a single win.
I have played this game for a very long time but have never been hard core PVP but I never recall it being this bad or unpleasent and I am just curious if there is a trick to know before I go back to PVE only?
As far as gear I went the bloddy token route, farmed dailys, and if you inspect my PVP gear is about 600 before scaling. Its a mix of Bloddy token, conquest and crafted gear, every slot is enchanted. So I am not whining with PVE or greens on, but if this is what PVP is now not sure what the point is?
Positioning
Faking kicks
Trading CDs appropriately
Avoiding CC
These are skills PvP healers have to practice just like mechanics in mythic+
You want to position your character relative to your team to prevent people landing CC as best you can. You can also use fade/death to immune stuff before it hits you
There’s nuance to this though like knowing when you can’t be CCd and pushing up for an aggressive play. Just practice and game awareness
Your dps partners have to stop follow up cc which basically never happens as shuffle
As for relying on instant casts that’s kind of just modern wow but you can get omnibar to track enemy interrupts and start a cast/cancel it to bait a kick so that you can freely cast
You’re not going to be great at the start just gotta practice like anything else.
I highly recommend making two friends to play regular 3s as it allows you to coordinate with your team. Hey I’m stunned stop the next fear makes the game a lot more fun than wrangling two cats that are only playing shuffle cuz no good healer is willing to play with them

I assume you’re doing shuffles? They’re chaotic by nature and faster paced as you start with damp already. It’s hard to save people from themselves in shuffle as a healer. Just keep that in mind and try not to worry about it too much. You get better with time.
Focus on your positioning and general awareness “positions of teammates as well as enemies” you’ll start to get a sense of what’s coming… it just takes time, man. hang in there.

Ya this is almost all pugs, solo shuffle ect. I know its also torward the end of the season so I am playing major catchup with gear, I will keep on trying through the start of season 2 with the gear reset and see if that helps. Thanks for the comments so far.

welcome to the Microsoft trash can
best advice I can give is… don’t do arena, it will honestly kill all the fun you have and there’s no need to anymore you can get the same gear from random casual BG’s and actually have fun in the process.
